3. Job Set-up

A. Energize the ground service network
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-42-00-861-001).

B. Get Access
   (1) If necessary, remove the component you will repair from the aircraft (refer to the related AMM chapter).
4. Procedure
Subtask 25-00-00-340-054-A
A. Repair of a Damage with a maximum Depth of 1.0 mm (0.04 in.)
   (1) Preparation:
     (a) Clean the damaged area with Non Aqueous Cleaner-- Isopropyl Alcohol - (Material No.08BBD1) and a lint-free cotton cloth Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) .
     (b) Prepare the Paste Adhesive-- Filler Furnishing (Material No.13FGE3) .
NOTE: Refer to the manufacturers instructions for the correct mixture.
   (2) Do the repair procedure:
     (a) Apply the compound to the repair area with a SPATULA - NON METALLIC.
     (b) Make the repair area smooth with a CLOTH-EMERY (GRADE 320 - 400).
     (c) Clean the repair area with Non Aqueous Cleaner-- Isopropyl Alcohol - (Material No.08BBD1) and a Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) .
   (3) If necessary apply a layer of paint coat (Ref. AMM TASK 25-20-00-370-006).

B. Repair of a Damage with a minimum Depth of 1.0 mm (0.04 in.) and a maximum Diameter of 50 mm (2.0 in.)
   (1) Preparation:
     (a) Make a basic mixture of 90 parts of Paste Adhesive-Epoxy Composite General Use Structure (Material No.13FBB2) (Araldite AW134) and 10 parts of the microballoons Microballoon-Phenolic - - (Material No.13JBA1) by volume.
NOTE: For this repair only the following materials are recommended:
  • ARALDITE AW 134 with Hardener HV 997
  • ARALDITE AW 134 with Hardener HY 994
     (b) Mix 40 parts of the hardener Paste Adhesive-Epoxy Composite General Use Structure (Material No.13FBB2) with 100 parts of the basic mixture by weight.
NOTE: For this repair only the following materials are recommended:
  • ARALDITE AW 134 with Hardener HV 997
  • ARALDITE AW 134 with Hardener HY 994
   (2) Do the repair procedure:
     (a) Apply the prepared mixture to the repair area with a SPATULA - NON METALLIC.
     (b) Make the repair area smooth with a CLOTH-EMERY (GRADE 320 - 400).
   (3) If necessary apply a layer of paint coat (Ref. AMM TASK 25-20-00-370-006).
Subtask 25-00-00-340-114-A
C. Repair of a Damage with a minimum Depth of 1.0 mm (0.04 in.) and a minimum Diameter of 50 mm (2.0 in.):
   (1) Preparation:
     (a) If the component is cracked, you must stop-drill the ends of the cracks with a DRILL DIA 3 MM (0.118 IN).
     (b) Make the edges of the damage smooth with a CLOTH-EMERY (GRADE 320 - 400).
     (c) Make 3 patches (1), (2) and (3) of glasscloth Dry glass fabric-4H Satin 105 gsm - 120 style SRM Type 2 - (Material No.13ABC1) .
   (2) Do the repair procedure:
     (a) Apply Polyurethane Adhesive-Equipment & Furnishing Two parts - (Material No.05FCE1) to the repair area and put the patch (3) in position.
     (b) Apply Polyurethane Adhesive-Equipment & Furnishing Two parts - (Material No.05FCE1) to the patch (3) and put the patch (2) in position.
     (c) Apply Polyurethane Adhesive-Equipment & Furnishing Two parts - (Material No.05FCE1) to the repair area and put the patch (1) in position.
     (d) Apply Polyurethane Adhesive-Equipment & Furnishing Two parts - (Material No.05FCE1) to the patch (1).
     (e) When the repair area is dry, make it smooth with a CLOTH-EMERY (GRADE 320 - 400).
     (f) Fill the areas that are not flat with Paste Adhesive-Epoxy Composite General Use Structure (Material No.13FBB2) .
NOTE: For this repair only the following materials are recommended:
  • ARALDITE AW 134 with Hardener HV 997
  • ARALDITE AW 134 with Hardener HY 994
     (g) Make the area smooth with a CLOTH-EMERY (GRADE 320 - 400).
     (h) Clean the repair with Non Aqueous Cleaner-- Isopropyl Alcohol - (Material No.08BBD1) and a Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) .
   (3) If necessary apply a layer of paint coat (Ref. AMM TASK 25-20-00-370-006).
5. Close-up
Subtask 25-00-00-410-093-A
A. Put the aircraft back to its initial configuration.
   (1) If removed before, install the repaired component in the aircraft (refer to the related AMM chapter).

B. Close-up
   (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
   (2) Remove the ground support and maintenance equipment, the special and standard tools and all other items.

C. De-energize the ground service network
(Ref. AMM TASK 24-42-00-862-001).
