B. Get Access
   (1) Open the fan cowl door(s) (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-802):
     (a) FOR [4020KM1] (POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE, ENG 1)
437AL and/or 438AR.
     (b) FOR [4020KM2] (POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE, ENG 2)
447AL and/or 448AR.

C. Deactivation of the Thrust Reverser System for the Ground Maintenance
WARNING: YOU MUST DEACTIVATE THE THRUST REVERSER BEFORE YOU DO WORK ON OR AROUND IT. IF YOU DO NOT, THE THRUST REVERSER CAN OPERATE ACCIDENTALLY AND CAUSE AN INJURY AND/OR DAMAGE.
   (1) Do the deactivation of the thrust reverser system for the ground maintenance (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-040-805).

D. Get Access
   (1) Open the left thrust-reverser cowl-door (Ref. AMM TASK 78-36-00-010-802):
     (a) FOR [4020KM1] (POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE, ENG 1)
451AL.
     (b) FOR [4020KM2] (POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE, ENG 2)
451AL.
CAUTION: REMOVE THE PROTECTION COVERS FROM THE OPENINGS AS NECESSARY TO PREVENT ENGINE DAMAGE.
   (2) Remove all the necessary COVER - PROTECTION to prevent damage to the engine.
4. Procedure
CAUTION: WIPE CLEAN ALL PARTS AND TOOLS AS NECESSARY TO REMOVE UNWANTED DEBRIS AND PREVENT DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE.
Subtask 24-21-61-020-052-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Removal of the IDG Power Feeder-Cables
   (1) Find the power feeder cables (1) attached to
  • The pylon interface terminal
  • The IDG on the left side of the engine core.
   (2) Remove the power feeder cables (1) from the IDG as follows:
     (a) Remove the bolts (7) and the washers (10) from the terminal cover (9).
     (b) Remove the terminal cover (9) from the IDG.
     (c) Make identification marks on the power feeder cables (1) (N (white), T3 (blue), T2 (yellow) and T1 (red)) for the subsequent installation.
     (d) Remove the nuts (8) from the IDG terminal-block studs.
     (e) Disconnect the power feeder cables (1) from the IDG.
     (f) Install the nuts (8) on the IDG terminal-block studs and tighten them with your hand.
     (g) Install the terminal cover (9), the washers (10) and the bolts (7) on the IDG and tighten the bolts (7) with your hand.
   (3) Remove the power feeder cables (1) from the grommets (16) and (19) as follows:
     (a) Loosen the bolts of the clamps (17).
     (b) Remove the power feeder cables (1) and the grommets (16) from the clamps (17).
     (c) Loosen the bolts of the clamps (18).
     (d) Remove the power feeder cables (1) and the grommets (19) from the clamps (18).
     (e) Remove the grommets (16) and (19) from the power feeder cables (1).
   (4) Remove the power feeder cables (1) from the pylon interface terminal as follows:
WARNING: USE GOGGLES AND GLOVES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL LOCKWIRE. EACH TIME YOU CUT LOCKWIRE, REMOVE AND DISCARD IT IMMEDIATELY. LOOSE LOCKWIRE CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND, AND/OR CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.
     (a) Cut and discard the lockwires from the captive bolts.
     (b) Remove the captive bolts and the terminal cover (4) from the pillar bolts (5).
     (c) Make identification marks on the power feeder cables (1) (N (white), T3 (blue), T2 (yellow) and T1 (red)) for the subsequent installation.
     (d) Remove the nuts (2) and the washers (3) from the pylon interface terminal-studs.
     (e) Disconnect the power feeder cables (1) and remove them.
     (f) If necessary, remove the pillar bolts (5) and the washers (6).
CAUTION: INSTALL PROTECTION COVERS ON ALL THE OPENINGS IMMEDIATELY TO PREVENT DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE.
   (5) Install all the necessary COVER - PROTECTION to prevent damage to the engine.
