WARNING:
BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU DO WORK ON THE ENGINE PARTS AFTER THE ENGINE SHUTDOWN. USE APPLICABLE THERMAL GLOVES. THE ENGINE PARTS CAN STAY HOT FOR ONE HOUR AFTER SHUTDOWN AND CAN BURN YOU.

A. Safety Precautions
(1) On the center pedestal, on ENG panel 115VU:
(a) Make sure that the ENG/MODE selector switch is in the NORM position.
(b) Make sure that the ENG/MASTER 1(2) control switch was in the OFF position not less than five minutes before you do this procedure.
(c) Put WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to operate the ENG/MODE selector switch and the ENG/MASTER 1(2) control switch.
(2) On the ENG section of maintenance panel 50VU:
(a) Make sure that the ON legend of the FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
(b) Put WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to energize FADEC 1(2).
Subtask 24-21-49-865-062-A (1) On the center pedestal, on ENG panel 115VU:
(a) Make sure that the ENG/MODE selector switch is in the NORM position.

C. Get Access
(1) Open the fan cowl doors (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-803):
(a) FOR [4020KM1] (POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE, ENGINE 1)

(2) Put in position a ACCESS PLATFORM 1M(3 FT).
4. Procedure(1) Open the fan cowl doors (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-803):

(2) Put in position a ACCESS PLATFORM 1M(3 FT).

A. Do the depressurization of the Integrated Drive Generator (IDG) as given in the draining of the oil from the IDG (Ref. AMM TASK 12-13-24-680-803).
Subtask 24-21-49-020-060-A B. Removal of the Integrated Drive Generator (IDG) to Oil Cooler Tubing
(1) Remove the return hose (1) as follows:
(b) Let the hose (1) drain into the CONTAINER 10 L(2 1/2 USGAL).
(c) Use a WRENCH - TORQUE, STANDARD to hold the oil tube (4) while you disconnect the hose (1).
(d) Remove the hose (1) from the engine.
(2) Remove the supply hose (3) as follows:
(b) Let the hose (3) drain into the CONTAINER 10 L(2 1/2 USGAL).
(c) Use a WRENCH - TORQUE, STANDARD to hold the oil tube (5) while you disconnect the hose (3).
(d) Remove the hose (3) from the engine.
(3) Disconnect the oil tubes (4) and (5) from the oil cooler (6) as follows:
(a) Remove the four bolts (8) that attach the flange of the oil tube (4) to the oil cooler (6).
(b) Remove the four bolts (7) that attach the flange of the oil tube (5) to the oil cooler (6).
(c) Remove and discard the gaskets (29) and (30) from the flanges of the oil cooler (6).
(4) Remove the bolts (10), (15), (20), (26), and (33) that attach the return oil tube (oil tube) (4) to the engine.
(5) Remove the oil tube (4) and the saddle clamp (11) from the engine.
(6) If you will install a new oil tube (4), make a record of the position of the four p-clamps to help during installation.
(7) If you will install a new oil tube (4), remove the p-clamps (16), (23), (25), and (32) from the oil tube.
(8) Remove the bolts (9), (14), (19), (27), and (34) that attach the supply oil tube (oil tube) (5) to the engine.
(9) Remove the oil tube (5) and the saddle clamp (12) from the engine.
(10) If you will install a new oil tube (5), do the steps that follow:
(a) Make a record of the position of the four p-clamps to help during installation.
(b) Remove the p-clamps (18), (22), (28), and (35) from the oil tube (5).
(11) Install the COVER - PROTECTION and the CAP - PROTECTION on all the open ports, tubes, hoses and the disconnected connectors.
(1) Remove the return hose (1) as follows:
NOTE: The return hose has a larger diameter than the supply hose.
(a) Disconnect the hose (1) from the IDG (2). (b) Let the hose (1) drain into the CONTAINER 10 L(2 1/2 USGAL).
(c) Use a WRENCH - TORQUE, STANDARD to hold the oil tube (4) while you disconnect the hose (1).
(d) Remove the hose (1) from the engine.
(2) Remove the supply hose (3) as follows:
NOTE: The supply hose has a smaller diameter than the return hose.
(a) Disconnect the hose (3) from the IDG (2). (b) Let the hose (3) drain into the CONTAINER 10 L(2 1/2 USGAL).
(c) Use a WRENCH - TORQUE, STANDARD to hold the oil tube (5) while you disconnect the hose (3).
(d) Remove the hose (3) from the engine.
(3) Disconnect the oil tubes (4) and (5) from the oil cooler (6) as follows:
(a) Remove the four bolts (8) that attach the flange of the oil tube (4) to the oil cooler (6).
(b) Remove the four bolts (7) that attach the flange of the oil tube (5) to the oil cooler (6).
(c) Remove and discard the gaskets (29) and (30) from the flanges of the oil cooler (6).
(4) Remove the bolts (10), (15), (20), (26), and (33) that attach the return oil tube (oil tube) (4) to the engine.
(5) Remove the oil tube (4) and the saddle clamp (11) from the engine.
(6) If you will install a new oil tube (4), make a record of the position of the four p-clamps to help during installation.
(7) If you will install a new oil tube (4), remove the p-clamps (16), (23), (25), and (32) from the oil tube.
(8) Remove the bolts (9), (14), (19), (27), and (34) that attach the supply oil tube (oil tube) (5) to the engine.
(9) Remove the oil tube (5) and the saddle clamp (12) from the engine.
(10) If you will install a new oil tube (5), do the steps that follow:
