A. Safety Precautions
(1) Do the procedure to prevent engine motoring (Ref. AMM TASK 71-00-00-860-833).

B. Get Access
(1) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) - ADJUSTABLE in position at zones 437(438) and 447(448).

C. Make the thrust reverser unserviceable.
4. ProcedureWARNING:
YOU MUST DEACTIVATE THE THRUST REVERSER BEFORE YOU DO WORK ON OR AROUND IT. IF YOU DO NOT, THE THRUST REVERSER CAN OPERATE ACCIDENTALLY AND CAUSE AN INJURY AND/OR DAMAGE.
(1) Deactivate the thrust reverser for ground maintenance (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-040-805).Subtask 11-24-71-400-051-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Installation of Flymark V6 Decals with Pressure Sensitive Adhesive
(1) Make sure that you wipe clean all parts and tools as necessary to remove unwanted debris and prevent damage to the engine and adjacent components.
(2) Install the applicable fan cowl markings in the specified locations as shown on illustration.
(3) Install the Flymark V6 Decals with pressure sensitive adhesive as follows:
(a) Lightly rub the surface where you will apply the topcoat with thePU1-0025 Abrasive Cloth, Aluminum Oxide .
(b) Clean the surface with thePU1-0001 Cotton, Lint-Free made moist with PU2-0001 Alcohol, Isopropyl .
(c) Remove thePU2-0001 Alcohol, Isopropyl with the clean PU1-0001 Cotton, Lint-Free before it dries.
(4) Apply the topcoats on the Flymark V6 decal as follows:
(a) Make a mask around the topcoat area with the Masking tape (Material No.PU1-0046)
The topcoat must extend0.125 IN. (3.175 MM) after the edge of the Flymark V6 decal.
PU4-0016 Topcoat, Clear Polyurethane or PU4-0016A Topcoat, Clear Polyurethane , Curing Solution (Material No.PU4-0014) and PU4-0015 Thinner/Reducer .
Refer to the manufacturer's instructions.
The topcoat must extend0.125 IN. (3.175 MM) after the edge of the Flymark V6 decal.
(d) Make sure that you can read the decal(s) correctly after you apply the topcoat and that it(they) does(do) not have deformation.
(e) Let the topcoat dry for 15 minutes.
(f) Apply a second layer of the mixture on the decal(s) with the BRUSH - BRISTLED, FIBER, SOFT.
The topcoat must extend0.125 IN. (3.175 MM) after the edge of the Flymark V6 decal.
(g) Make sure again that you can read the decal(s) correctly after you apply the topcoat and that it(they) does(do) not have deformation.
(h) Remove the Masking tape (Material No.PU1-0046) immediately after you apply the second topcoat to prevent ridges along the edges of the topcoat.
5. Close-up(1) Make sure that you wipe clean all parts and tools as necessary to remove unwanted debris and prevent damage to the engine and adjacent components.
(2) Install the applicable fan cowl markings in the specified locations as shown on illustration.
(3) Install the Flymark V6 Decals with pressure sensitive adhesive as follows:

CAUTION:
BEFORE YOU INSTALL THE DECALS, MAKE SURE THAT THE TEMPERATURE OF THE PART SURFACES IS BETWEEN 50 AND 90 DEG.F (10 AND 32 DEG.C). SURFACES WITH TEMPERATURES BELOW 50 DEG.F (10 DEG.C) CAN CAUSE THE DECALS TO NOT BOND CORRECTLY.
(d) Put the adhesive-backed Flymark V6 decal on the necessary flat area of the part or assembly and apply pressure along the surface of the decal with your hand or a ROLLER - RUBBER.(4) Apply the topcoats on the Flymark V6 decal as follows:
(a) Make a mask around the topcoat area with the Masking tape (Material No.PU1-0046)
The topcoat must extend0.125 IN. (3.175 MM) after the edge of the Flymark V6 decal.
NOTE: The Masking tape (Material No.PU1-0046) must not be more than six months old from the date of manufacture.
(b) Prepare a mixture of Refer to the manufacturer's instructions.
NOTE: Use the PU4-0016 Topcoat, Clear Polyurethane mixture in less than four hours of mixing. Use the PU4-0016A Topcoat, Clear Polyurethane mixture in less than 30 minutes of mixing.
(c) Apply a layer of the mixture on the decal(s) with the BRUSH - BRISTLED, FIBER, SOFT.The topcoat must extend0.125 IN. (3.175 MM) after the edge of the Flymark V6 decal.
(d) Make sure that you can read the decal(s) correctly after you apply the topcoat and that it(they) does(do) not have deformation.
(e) Let the topcoat dry for 15 minutes.
(f) Apply a second layer of the mixture on the decal(s) with the BRUSH - BRISTLED, FIBER, SOFT.
The topcoat must extend0.125 IN. (3.175 MM) after the edge of the Flymark V6 decal.
