A. Do the FADEC system engine actuators test to confirm this fault AMM 73-21-00-710-809.
(a) If the LPC 2.5 bleed valve is binding, repair it or remove the engine from service.
(b) If no problems are found, examine the harnesses and electrical connectors as described in the component and harness intermittent fault isolation procedure (Ref. TSM TASK 71-00-00-810-835).
(c) If no problems are found, return the engine to service. Monitor the engine for reoccurring maintenance message.
1 If the fault message returns, replace ACTUATOR-LPC BLEED VALVE [4092KS] AMM 75-32-01-000-801 and AMM 75-32-01-400-801.
(2) If the maintenance message comes back (hard fault), go to the Para. Fault Isolation.
4. Fault IsolationNOTE: The Electronic Engine Control (EEC) channel B has detected that the Low Pressure Compressor (LPC) 2.5 bleed valve actuator is not able to move to its command position within an acceptable period of time. The LPC 2.5 bleed valve actuator is mounted on the aft side of the compressor intermediate case bulkhead located at the 10 o'clock position.
- Refer to the general troubleshooting guidelines for additional troubleshooting information (Ref. TSM TASK 71-00-00-810-834).
- Refer to the component and harness intermittent troubleshooting procedure for guidance troubleshooting intermittent faults (Ref. TSM TASK 71-00-00-810-835).
NOTE: Position faults from fuel driven actuators may appear after servicing the engine fuel filter or other fuel system parts due to entrapped air in the system. Performing the FADEC system actuator test again will purge the air. If the actuator position faults do not clear after one or two actuator tests proceed to troubleshoot the system.
(1) If the maintenance message does not come back, do a check of the LPC 2.5 bleed system AMM 75-32-01-200-801.
WARNING:
BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU DO WORK ON THE ENGINE AFTER SHUTDOWN. THE ENGINE CAN STAY HOT FOR A LONG TIME. IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THIS WARNING, INJURY CAN OCCUR.
WARNING:
REFER TO THE MSDS FOR ALL MATERIAL USED AND THE MANUFACTURER'S SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS FOR ALL EQUIPMENT USED. IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THIS WARNING, INJURY CAN OCCUR.
CAUTION:
MAKE SURE YOU REMOVE ELECTRICAL POWER FROM THE EEC BEFORE YOU REMOVE THE ELECTRICAL CONNECTORS. IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THIS INSTRUCTION, DAMAGE TO THE EEC CAN OCCUR.
