3. Fault Confirmation
Subtask 71-00-00-710-142-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Investigate the Engine after a No/Limited (N2) Rotation event
   (1) Using the Multipurpose Control and Display Unit (MCDU) test the FADEC system for any recorded faults AMM 73-21-00-710-806.
   (2) Any EEC monitored faults are transmitted to the aircraft Centralized Fault Display Interface Unit (CFDIU). The MCDU allows interactive dialog with the EEC. Use the MCDU to review the previous flight leg fault information, scheduled maintenance fault information and ground fault information. If there are any faults reported troubleshoot them first.
4. Fault Isolation
WARNING: BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU DO WORK ON THE ENGINE AFTER SHUTDOWN. THE ENGINE CAN STAY HOT FOR A LONG TIME. IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THIS WARNING, INJURY CAN OCCUR.
Subtask 71-00-00-810-149-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Do the steps that follow:
   (1) If the maintenance messages related to the N2 speed sensor failure on channel A appear with the ECAM warning for engine FADEC system fault and/or the ECAM warning for engine sensor fault and amber crosses on N2 display, refer to N2 sensor electrical failure (Ref. TSM TASK 77-11-00-810-811).
   (2) If the maintenance messages related to the N2 speed sensor failure on channel B appear with the ECAM warning for engine FADEC system fault and/or the ECAM warning for engine sensor fault and amber crosses on N2 display, refer to N2 sensor electrical failure (Ref. TSM TASK 77-11-00-810-812).
   (3) If the maintenance messages related to the Starter Air Valve (SAV) failure closed appear with the ECAM warning for GO IF 10 days MMEL and the ECAM warning for engine start valve fault start valve not open refer to SAV failed closed (Ref. TSM TASK 80-11-00-810-827).
   (4) If the maintenance messages related to the SAV not powered by EEC on channel A appear with the ECAM warning for engine FADEC status maintenance and/or the ECAM warning for GO IF 10 days MMEL and engine start valve fault - windmill start only - start valve man only refer to SAV cannot be powered by EEC, except in case of power fault (Ref. TSM TASK 80-11-00-810-825).
   (5) If the maintenance messages related to the SAV not powered by EEC on channel B appear with the ECAM warning for engine FADEC status maintenance and/or the ECAM warning for GO IF 10 days MMEL and engine start valve fault - windmill start only - start valve man only, refer to SAV cannot be powered by EEC, except in case of power fault (Ref. TSM TASK 80-11-00-810-826).
   (6) If the maintenance messages related to the starter clutch mechanical appear with the ECAM warning for NO GO and engine start fault/starter shaft shear, refer to starter clutch mechanical failure detected (Ref. TSM TASK 80-11-00-810-824).
NOTE: The maintenance messages related to the starter clutch mechanical failure, indicate a sheared starter coupling shaft.
   (7) If the maintenance messages related to the starter speed sensor failure on channel A appear with the ECAM warning for GO IF 10 days MMEL and amber crosses on SAV position, refer to starter speed (NS) in signal failure (Ref. TSM TASK 80-11-00-810-821).
   (8) If the maintenance messages related to the starter speed sensor failure on channel B appear with the ECAM warning for GO IF 10 days MMEL and amber crosses on SAV position, refer to starter speed (NS) in signal failure (Ref. TSM TASK 80-11-00-810-822).
   (9) If the maintenance messages related to the master lever hardwired discrete signal failure on channel A appear with the ECAM warning for engine FADEC status maintenance, refer to master lever hardwired discrete signal failure (Ref. TSM TASK 73-11-00-810-830).
   (10) If the maintenance messages related to the master lever hardwired discrete signal failure on channel B appear with the ECAM warning for engine FADEC status maintenance, refer to master lever hardwired discrete signal failure (Ref. TSM TASK 73-11-00-810-814).
   (11) If there are no EEC monitored faults or messages recorded, inspect the starter air supply ducts AMM 80-11-00-210-801.
   (12) If you do not find any problems, visually inspect the engine exhaust area AMM 72-00-00-210-812.
   (13) If you do not find any problems, make sure that the N2 rotor turns freely AMM 72-00-00-400-805.
     (a) If the gearbox and/or the HPC will not turn, remove the engine from service.
   (14) If you do not find any problems, remove the high (N2) rotor turning equipment AMM 72-00-00-000-805.
   (15) If you do not find any problems, visually inspect the engine inlet area AMM 72-00-00-210-813.
   (16) If you do not find any problems, visually inspect the magnetic chip collector for oil system contamination AMM 79-00-00-281-802.
     (a) If there are indications of metal particles, remove the engine from service.
   (17) If you do not find any problems, dry crank the engine AMM 71-00-00-720-809.
     (a) If the N2 will not rotate, remove the engine from service.
5. Close-up
