Refuel/Defuel Floodlight Failure
WARNING:
OBEY THE FUEL SAFETY PROCEDURES.
WARNING:
WHEN YOU DO WORK ON THE FUEL SYSTEM WIRING, YOU MUST USE TEST EQUIPMENT THAT IS APPROVED (REFER TO INTERNATIONAL OR NATIONAL SPECIFICATIONS FOR INTRINSICALLY SAFE TEST EQUIPMENT: EN50020, UL913 OR EQUIVALENT). TEST EQUIPMENT THAT IS NOT APPROVED CAN CAUSE FIRE OR AN EXPLOSION.
1. Possible Causes- lamp
- FLOODLIGHT-REFUEL/DEFUEL CTL PNL [32QU]
C/B-2QU - RELAY-REFUEL/DEFUEL CTL PNL DOOR POSITION [14QU]
- CTL PNL-REFUEL/DEFUEL [800VU]

B. Test
(1) Make sure that the C/Bs that follow are closed:
(a) During the Test of the Refuel Panel 800VU make a record of the results.
(b) When you open the access panel 192MB/522KB/622KB, or if you put the BATT POWER switch to the ON position (because ground power is not available), look at the floodlight lamp:
4. Fault Isolation(1) Make sure that the C/Bs that follow are closed:
- C/B-1PR
- C/B-2PR
- C/B-4PR
- C/B-2QU.
(a) During the Test of the Refuel Panel 800VU make a record of the results.
(b) When you open the access panel 192MB/522KB/622KB, or if you put the BATT POWER switch to the ON position (because ground power is not available), look at the floodlight lamp:
- if the refuel floodlight and refuel panel 800VU do not power-up, do the procedures No Power to the REFUEL/DEFUEL PNL (800VU) (Ref. TSM TASK 28-25-00-810-817) and Refueling not Possible (Ref. TSM TASK 24-67-00-810-801)
- if the refuel floodlight does not come on but on the refuel panel all the other lights and LEDs are serviceable, do Para. 4.A.
- if the refuel floodlight is serviceable but on the refuel panel a light or FQI indicator does not operate as specified, go to the applicable section (Local or Observations) and do the applicable troubleshooting procedure.
Subtask 28-25-00-810-054-A
A. Procedure
(1) Make sure that the C/B-2QU is closed.
(2) Get access to the rear of the lamp AMM 28-25-54-000-001.
(3) Do a test with a MULTIMETER - STANDARD to see if 28VDC is available at the lamp AWM 282502:
(a) The lamp AIPC 282554 FIG 01, ITEM 040.
(b) The FLOODLIGHT-REFUEL/DEFUEL CTL PNL [32QU] AMM 28-25-54-000-001 and AMM 28-25-54-400-001.
(5) If 28VDC is not available across the lamp:
(a) Do a check ASM 282501 of and, if necessary, replace the items that follow:
1 TheC/B-2QU .
a Use a multimeter to make sure that there is 28VDC between C/B-2QU, terminal 2 and an adjacent ground point AWM 282501.
2 The RELAY-REFUEL/DEFUEL CTL PNL DOOR POSITION [14QU] .
3 The CTL PNL-REFUEL/DEFUEL [800VU] AMM 28-25-55-000-001 and AMM 28-25-55-400-001.
a At the CTL PNL-REFUEL/DEFUEL (800VU) use a multimeter to make sure that there is continuity between:
(c) If the fault continues, do a check ASM 282501 of the aircraft wiring between:
(e) Do the test given in Para. 3.B.
(1) Make sure that the C/B-2QU is closed.
(2) Get access to the rear of the lamp AMM 28-25-54-000-001.
(3) Do a test with a MULTIMETER - STANDARD to see if 28VDC is available at the lamp AWM 282502:
- if 28VDC is available at the lamp, go to step (4)
- if 28VDC is not available at the lamp, go to step (5).
(a) The lamp AIPC 282554 FIG 01, ITEM 040.
(b) The FLOODLIGHT-REFUEL/DEFUEL CTL PNL [32QU] AMM 28-25-54-000-001 and AMM 28-25-54-400-001.
(5) If 28VDC is not available across the lamp:

a Use a multimeter to make sure that there is 28VDC between C/B-2QU, terminal 2 and an adjacent ground point AWM 282501.
- the receptacle 4023VC, pin Y and receptacle 4024VC, pin L
- the receptacle 4023VC, pin <H and receptacle 4024VC, pin <F.
NOTE: There is a diode connected between the receptacle 4023VC, pin <H (anode) and receptacle 4024VC, pin <F (cathode) AWM 282501.
(b) Do the test given in Para. 3.B. (c) If the fault continues, do a check ASM 282501 of the aircraft wiring between:
- the floodlight negative terminal and the ground point
- the floodlight positive terminal and the refuel panel 800VU connector 4024VC-A, pin L
