3. Fault Confirmation
Subtask 27-92-00-860-080-A
A. Side Stick Identification
   (1) Do the identification of the side stick installed on the aircraft AMM 27-92-41-860-801.
     (a) If a new-generation side-stick unit is installed on the aircraft, refer to the trouble shooting procedure (Ref. TSM TASK 27-92-00-810-842).
     (b) If the side stick installed on the aircraft is not a new-generation side-stick unit, continue this procedure.
Subtask 27-92-00-700-054-A
B. Test
   (1) Do the operational test of the side stick priority AMM 27-96-00-710-003.
   (2) Do the BITE test of the EFCS (Ground Scanning) AMM 27-96-00-740-001.
4. Fault Isolation
Subtask 27-92-00-810-085-A
A. If the tests give the maintenance message CHECK PRIORITY WIRING:
   (1) Do the tests given in Para. 3. with only the SEC 1 and the ELAC 1 engaged for the operational test of the side stick priority (SEC 2, SEC 3, ELAC 2 pushbuttons OFF).
  • If the tests do not give the maintenance message:
    . Go to paragraph (2).
  • If the tests give the maintenance message again:
     (a) Do the same tests:
  • With action on the CAPT takeover and priority pushbutton switch for the operational test of the side stick priority.
       1 If the tests give the maintenance message again:
  • Do the same tests with action on the F/O takeover and priority pushbutton switch for the operational test of the side stick priority.
         a If the tests give the maintenance message again:
  • Replace the RELAY-TAKEOVER & PRIORITY 1 [47CE1] AIPC 279208.
  • If the fault continues:
    . Do a check and repair the wiring from the relay (47CE1) pins A/1, 2, X, Z to the first terminal block and from pin A/A to the ground terminal ASM 279217.
  • If the fault continues, go to paragraph (b).
         b If the tests do not give the maintenance message:
  • Replace the P/BSW-TAKEOVER & PRIORITY, CAPT [8CE1] AMM 27-92-41-000-011 and AMM 27-92-41-400-011.
  • If the fault continues:
    . Do a check and repair the wiring from the pushbutton switch (8CE1) pins 1, 2, 3, 4 to the first terminal block ASM 279217.
  • If the fault continues, go to paragraph (b).
       2 If the tests do not give the maintenance message:
         a Replace the P/BSW-TAKEOVER & PRIORITY, F/O [8CE2] AMM 27-92-41-000-011 and AMM 27-92-41-400-011.
         b If the fault continues:
  • Do a check and repair the wiring from the pushbutton switch (8CE2) pins 1, 2, 3, 4 to the first terminal block ASM 279217.
         c If the fault continues, go to paragraph (b).
     (b) Remove the ELAC 1 AMM 27-93-34-000-001 from its rack.
  • Do the tests given in Para. 3. with the SEC 1 engaged (SEC 2, SEC 3, ELAC 2 pushbuttons OFF).
       1 If the tests give the maintenance message again:
         a Reinstall the ELAC 1 AMM 27-93-34-400-001.
         b Replace the SEC-1 [1CE1] AMM 27-94-34-000-001 AMM 27-94-34-400-001.
         c If the fault continues:
  • Do a check of the insulation of the DSI 29, DSI 30 of the SEC-1 [1CE1] and repair it.
       2 If the tests do not give the maintenance message:
         a Replace the ELAC-1 [2CE1] AMM 27-93-34-400-001.
         b If the fault continues:
  • Do a check of the insulation of the DSI 35, DSI 36 of the ELAC-1 [2CE1] and repair it.
   (2) Do the tests given in Para. 3.:
  • With the SEC 2, SEC 3 and ELAC 2 engaged (SEC 1, ELAC 1 pushbuttons OFF).
  • With action on the CAPT takeover and priority pushbutton switch for the operational test of the side stick priority.
     (a) If the tests give the maintenance message:
  • Do the same tests with action on the F/O takeover and priority pushbutton switch for the operational test of the side stick priority.
       1 If the tests give the maintenance message again:
         a Replace the RELAY-TAKEOVER & PRIORITY 2 [47CE2] AIPC 279208.
         b If the fault continues:
. Do a check and repair the wiring from the relay (47CE2) pins A/1, 2, X, Z to the first terminal block and from pin A/A to the ground terminal ASM 279217.
         c If the fault continues, go to paragraph (c).
       2 If the tests do not give the maintenance message:
         a Replace the P/BSW-TAKEOVER & PRIORITY, CAPT [8CE1] AMM 27-92-41-000-011 and AMM 27-92-41-400-011.
         b If the fault continues:
. Do a check and repair the wiring from the pushbutton switch (8CE1) pins 5, 6, 7, 8 to the first terminal block ASM 279217.
         c If the fault continues, go to paragraph (c).
     (b) If the tests do not give the maintenance message:
       1 Replace the P/BSW-TAKEOVER & PRIORITY, F/O [8CE2] AMM 27-92-41-000-011 and AMM 27-92-41-400-011.
       2 If the fault continues:
  • Do a check and repair the wiring from the pushbutton switch (8CE2) pins 5, 6, 7, 8 to the first terminal block ASM 279217.
       3 If the fault continues, go to paragraph (c).
     (c) Remove the SEC 3 AMM 27-94-34-000-001 from its rack.
  • Do the tests given in Para. 3. with the SEC 2 and ELAC 2 engaged (SEC 1, ELAC 1, pushbuttons OFF).
       1 If the tests do not give the maintenance message:
         a Replace the SEC-3 [1CE3] AMM 27-94-34-400-001.
         b If the fault continues:
  • Do a check of the insulation of the DSI 29, DSI 30 of the SEC-3 [1CE3] and repair it.
       2 If the tests give the maintenance message again:
         a Reinstall the SEC 3 AMM 27-94-34-400-001 .
         b Go to paragraph (d).
     (d) Remove the SEC 2 AMM 27-94-34-000-001 from its rack.
  • Do the tests again with the SEC 3 and ELAC 2 engaged (SEC 1, ELAC 1, pushbuttons OFF).
       1 If the tests do not give the maintenance message:
         a Replace the SEC-2 [1CE2] AMM 27-94-34-400-001.
         b If the fault continues:
  • Do a check of the insulation of the DSI 29, DSI 30 of the SEC 3 and repair it.
       2 If the tests give the maintenance message again:
         a Reinstall the SEC 2 AMM 27-94-34-400-001.
         b Go to paragraph (e).
     (e) Replace the ELAC-2 [2CE2] AMM 27-93-34-000-001 AMM 27-93-34-400-001
       1 If the fault continues:
  • Do a check of the insulation of the DSI 35, DSI 36 of the ELAC-2 [2CE2] and repair it.
