3. Fault Confirmation

A. Test
   (1) Some CIDS-SDF software can cause a spurious fault message for the smoke alarm to occur (Refer to TFU 23.73.00.101).
   (2) Make sure that:
     (a) There was no real smoke condition in the related area.
     (b) There was no other cause, such as smoke source external to the aircraft, which could cause the smoke warning.
     (c) The APU (Auxiliary Power Unit) operated during the smoke warning.
   (3) Do the pre-conditioning of the air conditioning system with the APU AMM 12-33-21-618-001.
4. Fault Isolation
Subtask 26-16-00-810-059-A
A. If you smell fumes in the cabin during the pre-conditioning with the APU:
   (1) Do the troubleshooting procedure for the oil in the air conditioning system (Ref. TSM TASK 21-00-00-810-801).
NOTE: This fault can be caused by a smoke event because of an oil leak of the APU or environmental conditions such as humidity, dust, etc.

B. Record the cargo-compartment smoke warning event in the report form AMM 26-16-00-910-801.
