BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU USE CONSUMABLE MATERIALS. OBEY THE MATERIAL MANUFACTURER'S INSTRUCTIONS AND YOUR LOCAL REGULATIONS.
WARNING:
IF IT IS NECESSARY TO ENERGIZE THE AIRCRAFT FOR A MAINTENANCE WORK WHILE YOU DO THIS MAINTENANCE PROCEDURE, MAKE SURE THAT ONLY EXTERNAL POWER IS USED. THE USE OF APU OR ENGINE POWER CAN CAUSE PRESSURIZED AIR LEAKAGE IN THE PNEUMATIC SYSTEM, AND INJURY CAN OCCUR.

A. Safety Precautions
(1) On the center pedestal, on ENG panel 115VU:
(a) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to start the engine.
(2) Make sure that the engine 1(2) shutdown occurred not less than five minutes before you do this procedure.
(3) On overhead maintenance panel 50VU:
(a) Make sure that the ON legend of the ENG/FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
(b) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to energize FADEC 1(2).
(4) On the APU section of OVERHEAD CTL & IND panel 25VU:
(a) Make sure that the APU MASTER SW pushbutton switch is released.
(b) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to operate the APU.
(5) On AIR COND panel 30VU:

- Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to operate the pneumatic system.
- Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to pressurize the pneumatic system.
- Make sure that the X-BLEED selector switch is in the SHUT position.
B. Get Access
(1) Make sure that the fan cowl doors are open (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-010):

A. Clean these parts.
(1) Clean these parts with a Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) made moist withV01-076 Methyl Ethyl Ketone, Technical grade .
(a) Clean the pneumatic starter valve (4).
(b) The ducts (2) and (7).

(a) Clean the pneumatic starter valve (4).
(b) The ducts (2) and (7).
B. Installation of the Pneumatic Starter Valve
(a) Put the new AIPC 80-13-51-80-020 SEAL (1) in position and hold the starter valve (4) on the engine in the position noted on removal.
(b) Install the coupling (3).
(c) TORQUE the coupling nut to between 85 and 75 lbf.in (0.96 and 0.85 m.daN )
(Ref. AMM TASK 70-23-11-911-013).
(d) Remove the CAP-BLANKING from each electrical connector and receptacle.
(e) Make sure that all the electrical connections are clean and in the correct condition.
(f) Connect the electrical connector (11) (Ref. AMM TASK 70-23-15-912-010).
(2) Install the lower starter duct.
(a) Hold the lower duct (7), the new AIPC 80-13-51-80-020 SEAL (5) and AIPC 80-13-41-80-020 SEAL (9) in position on the engine.
(b) Install the couplings (6) and (8).
(c) TORQUE the couplings to between 85 and 75 lbf.in (0.96 and 0.85 m.daN )
(Ref. AMM TASK 70-23-11-911-013).
5. Close-upCAUTION:
MAKE SURE THE VALVE IS INSTALLED CORRECTLY. THE DIRECTION-OF-FLOW ARROW ON THE VALVE BODY MUST POINT IN THE DIRECTION OF THE PNEUMATIC STARTER.
(1) Install the pneumatic starter valve. (a) Put the new AIPC 80-13-51-80-020 SEAL (1) in position and hold the starter valve (4) on the engine in the position noted on removal.
(b) Install the coupling (3).
(c) TORQUE the coupling nut to between 85 and 75 lbf.in (0.96 and 0.85 m.daN )
(Ref. AMM TASK 70-23-11-911-013). (d) Remove the CAP-BLANKING from each electrical connector and receptacle.
(e) Make sure that all the electrical connections are clean and in the correct condition.
(f) Connect the electrical connector (11) (Ref. AMM TASK 70-23-15-912-010).
(2) Install the lower starter duct.
(a) Hold the lower duct (7), the new AIPC 80-13-51-80-020 SEAL (5) and AIPC 80-13-41-80-020 SEAL (9) in position on the engine.
(b) Install the couplings (6) and (8).
(c) TORQUE the couplings to between 85 and 75 lbf.in (0.96 and 0.85 m.daN )

A. Close Access
(1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) Close the fan cowls (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-410-010):

(3) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
(4) Remove the access platform(s).
