A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(2) On the overhead maintenance panel 50VU, make sure that the ON legend of the ENG/FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off. Make sure that a WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to energize the FADEC 1(2).
(3) On the AIR COND panel 30VU:
Subtask 80-13-43-010-053-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL WARNING:
IF IT IS NECESSARY TO ENERGIZE THE AIRCRAFT FOR A MAINTENANCE WORK WHILE YOU DO THIS MAINTENANCE PROCEDURE, MAKE SURE THAT ONLY EXTERNAL POWER IS USED. THE USE OF APU OR ENGINE POWER CAN CAUSE PRESSURIZED AIR LEAKAGE IN THE PNEUMATIC SYSTEM, AND INJURY CAN OCCUR.
(1) On the center pedestal, on the ENG panel 115VU, make sure that a WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to start the engine. (2) On the overhead maintenance panel 50VU, make sure that the ON legend of the ENG/FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off. Make sure that a WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to energize the FADEC 1(2).
(3) On the AIR COND panel 30VU:
- make sure that the APU BLEED pushbutton switch is released (ON legend is off),
- make sure that a WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to operate the pneumatic system.
- make sure that a WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to pressurize the pneumatic system.
B. Get Access
(1) Make sure that the fan cowl doors are open: (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-040)

(2) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 1M(3 FT) is in position.
4. Procedure(1) Make sure that the fan cowl doors are open: (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-040)

(2) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 1M(3 FT) is in position.

A. Install the Upper Starter Duct.
(1) Remove the protective covers from the ducts.
Subtask 80-13-43-420-052-B ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Remove the protective covers from the ducts.
CAUTION:
MAKE SURE THAT THE V-CLAMP ATTACHMENTS CAN NOT TOUCH ENGINE COMPONENTS OR STRUCTURE, TO PREVENT DAMAGE.
(a) Attach the upper starter the duct (10) to the starter valve and to the pylon duct with the couplings (30). Tighten the couplings sufficiently to attach the duct (10) to the starter valve and to the pylon duct. B. Install the Upper Starter Duct.
(1) Attach the links to the upper starter duct (10) with the bolts (15), the washers (20), and the nuts (25).
Make sure that the washers are installed with the countersink against the bolt heads.
(2) Adjust the links as required to avoid preloading of the duct and the links.
(3) TORQUE the nuts (25) to between 70 and 50 lbf.in (0.79 and 0.57 m.daN )

(4) Safety the links withCP8002 lockwire 0.032 in. (0.8 mm) dia .
(5) TORQUE the coupling (30) nuts to between 80 and 70 lbf.in (0.90 and 0.79 m.daN )
.
Lightly hit coupling perimeters with a fiber hammer. TORQUE the couplings again to between 80 and 70 lbf.in (0.90 and 0.79 m.daN )
and lightly hit the coupling perimeters again. Do this procedure again, then TORQUE the couplings to between 80 and 70 lbf.in (0.90 and 0.79 m.daN )

(6) If not previously installed install the plug (35) in the upper starter duct (10) and TORQUE the plug to between 900 and 810 lbf.in (10.17 and 9.15 m.daN )
.
5. Close-up(1) Attach the links to the upper starter duct (10) with the bolts (15), the washers (20), and the nuts (25).
Make sure that the washers are installed with the countersink against the bolt heads.
(2) Adjust the links as required to avoid preloading of the duct and the links.
(3) TORQUE the nuts (25) to between 70 and 50 lbf.in (0.79 and 0.57 m.daN )

(5) TORQUE the coupling (30) nuts to between 80 and 70 lbf.in (0.90 and 0.79 m.daN )
