A. Manual Control of the Starter Valve.

WARNING: BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU OPERATE THE STARTER SHUTOFF VALVE WITH THE ENGINE RUNNING. OBEY THE SAFETY PRECAUTIONS.

CAUTION: DO NOT OPERATE THE MANUAL HANDLE OF THE PNEUMATIC STARTER VALVE IF THE STARTER SYSTEM IS NOT PRESSURIZED. IF YOU DO, DAMAGE TO THE PNEUMATIC STARTER VALVE CAN OCCUR.

(1) Perform an engine start (Ref. AMM TASK 71-00-00-710-003) or (Ref. AMM TASK 71-00-00-710-004) by operating the starter valve manually.

NOTE: The start air valve manual operation can be done either if the engine is started automatically or manually.

(2) After engine start cycle, check on starter valve that manual handle is in closed position (Ref. AMM TASK 80-11-00-040-044). If not manually close the starter shutoff valve.

B. Safety Precautions
(1) Install a WARNING NOTICE(S) in the cockpit to tell the persons that the pneumatic starter valve system is inoperative.
(2) Tell the crew to make an entry in the log book
