Removal of the Scavenge Oil Filter Assembly
WARNING:
DO NOT LET ENGINE OIL STAY ON YOUR SKIN FOR A LONG TIME. FLUSH THE OIL FROM YOUR SKIN WITH WATER. THE OIL IS POISONOUS AND CAN GO THROUGH YOUR SKIN AND INTO YOUR BODY.
WARNING:
BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU DO WORK ON THE ENGINE PARTS AFTER THE ENGINE SHUTDOWN. USE APPLICABLE THERMAL GLOVES. THE ENGINE PARTS CAN STAY HOT FOR ONE HOUR AFTER SHUTDOWN AND CAN BURN YOU.

A. Safety Precautions
(1) On the center pedestal, on the ENG panel 115VU:
(a) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) to tell persons not to start the engine.
(2) Make sure that the engine 1(2) shutdown occurred not less than 5 minutes before you do this procedure.
(3) On the overhead maintenance panel 50VU:
(a) Make sure that the ON legend of the ENG/FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
(b) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) to tell persons not to energize the FADEC 1(2).

A. Put a CONTAINER 10 L(2 1/2 USGAL) below the oil tubes (22) and (10).
Subtask 79-22-43-680-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL Subtask 79-22-43-020-051-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL C. Removal of the Magnetic Chip Detector and the Scavenge Oil Filter Element:
(1) Remove the magnetic chip detector housing (Ref. AMM TASK 79-22-45-000-010).
(2) Remove the scavenge oil filter element (Ref. AMM TASK 79-22-44-000-010).
(3) Remove the oil temperature sensor (Ref. AMM TASK 79-32-16-000-010).
(4) Disconnect the oil tubes.
(5) Disconnect the tubes (16) and (17) from the scavenge oil filter housing assembly (12).
(6) Remove the three bolts (1), the washer (23) and the bracket (2).
(7) Remove the three bolts (5) and the three washers (6) which attach the oil tube (10) to the oil scavenge pump (7).
Subtask 79-22-43-020-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Remove the magnetic chip detector housing (Ref. AMM TASK 79-22-45-000-010).
(2) Remove the scavenge oil filter element (Ref. AMM TASK 79-22-44-000-010).
(3) Remove the oil temperature sensor (Ref. AMM TASK 79-32-16-000-010).
(4) Disconnect the oil tubes.
(5) Disconnect the tubes (16) and (17) from the scavenge oil filter housing assembly (12).
(6) Remove the three bolts (1), the washer (23) and the bracket (2).
(7) Remove the three bolts (5) and the three washers (6) which attach the oil tube (10) to the oil scavenge pump (7).
D. Removal of the Scavenge Oil Filter Housing Assembly:
(1) Remove the scavenge oil filter housing assembly with the oil tubes (10) and (22)
(a) Hold the scavenge oil filter housing assembly (12)
(b) Remove the three bolts (13) and the three washers (14) that attach the scavenge oil filter housing assembly (12).
(c) Carefully move the scavenge oil filter housing assembly (12) to disengage the flange of the oil feed tube (22) from the flange on the oil tank.
(d) Disengage the flange of the oil tube (10) from the flange on the oil scavenge pump (7).
(e) Remove the scavenge oil filter housing assembly (12) with the oil tubes (10) and (22).
(f) Remove and discard the packings (3) and (8).
(2) Remove the oil tubes from the scavenge oil filter housing assembly.

(a) Remove the three bolts (21) and the three washers (20) and remove the oil feed tube (22).

(c) Remove and discard the packing (19).
(d) Remove the three bolts (9) and the three washers (11) and remove the oil tube (10).
(e) Remove and discard the packing (4).
(3) Install CAP - BLANKING to all openings.
Subtask 79-22-43-942-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Remove the scavenge oil filter housing assembly with the oil tubes (10) and (22)
(a) Hold the scavenge oil filter housing assembly (12)
(b) Remove the three bolts (13) and the three washers (14) that attach the scavenge oil filter housing assembly (12).
(c) Carefully move the scavenge oil filter housing assembly (12) to disengage the flange of the oil feed tube (22) from the flange on the oil tank.
(d) Disengage the flange of the oil tube (10) from the flange on the oil scavenge pump (7).
(e) Remove the scavenge oil filter housing assembly (12) with the oil tubes (10) and (22).
(f) Remove and discard the packings (3) and (8).
(2) Remove the oil tubes from the scavenge oil filter housing assembly.

(a) Remove the three bolts (21) and the three washers (20) and remove the oil feed tube (22).

(c) Remove and discard the packing (19).
(d) Remove the three bolts (9) and the three washers (11) and remove the oil tube (10).
(e) Remove and discard the packing (4).
(3) Install CAP - BLANKING to all openings.
E. Remove the container and discard the drained oil.
