A. Safety Precautions
   (1) On the center pedestal, on ENG panel 115VU:
     (a) Make sure that the ENG/MODE selector switch is in the NORM position.
     (b) Make sure that the ENG/MASTER 1(2) control switch was in the OFF position not less than five minutes before you do this procedure.
     (c) Put WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to operate:
  • The ENG/MODE selector switch
  • The ENG/MASTER 1(2) control switch.
   (2) On the ENG section of maintenance panel 50VU:
     (a) Make sure that the ON legend of the FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
     (b) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to energize FADEC 1(2).

   (1) Open the fan cowl doors (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-803):
     (a) FOR [4020KM1] (POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE, ENGINE 1)

     (b) FOR [4020KM2] (POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE, ENGINE 2)

4. Procedure
Subtask 79-22-01-020-051-A
A. Removal of the C Seal Gaskets
WARNING: USE PERSONAL PROTECTION EQUIPMENT. USE THE ENGINE OIL IN A WELL-VENTILATED AREA. ENGINE OIL IS TOXIC.
   (1) Drain the lubrication unit (Ref. AMM TASK 12-13-79-610-803).
   (2) Remove all the C seal gaskets and the flange assy C seals between pipeline / pipeline interface as follows:
WARNING: USE PROTECTIVE GLOVES AND BE CAREFUL WITH OIL SPLASHES WHEN YOU DISCONNECT OIL TUBES. HOT OIL CAN CAUSE DEEP BURNS.
     (a) Removal of the flange assy C seal (7) and the flange assy C seal (13):
       1 Loose the nut (1) and the bolt (4) that attach the clamp (3). 
       2 Loose the bolt (5) that attach the clamp (6). 
       3 Remove the four nuts (10) and the four bolts (9) that attach the oil tube (8) to the oil tube (2).
       4 Remove and discard the flange assy C seal (7) from the oil tube (8). 
       5 Remove the four nuts (11) and the four bolts (14) that attach the oil tube (2) to the oil tube (12).
       6 Remove and discard the flange assy C seal (13) from the oil tube (2). 
     (b) Removal of the C seal gasket (17):
       1 Remove the four nuts (15) and the four bolts (18) that attach the oil tube (19) to the oil tube (16). 
       2 Remove and discard the C seal gasket (17) from the oil tube (19). 
     (c) Removal of the flange assy C seal (22):
       1 Remove the four nuts (21) and the four bolts (23) that attach the oil tube (24) to the oil tube (20).
       2 Remove and discard the flange assy C seal (22) from the oil tube (24).
     (d) Removal of the flange assy C seal (27):
       1 Remove the four nuts (29) and the four bolts (25) that attach the oil tube (28) to the oil tube (26).
       2 Remove and discard the flange assy C seal (27) from the oil tube (28).
     (e) Removal of the C seal gasket (33):
       1 Remove the four nuts (30) and the four bolts (31) that attach the oil tube (34) to the oil tube (32).
       2 Remove and discard the C seal gasket (33) from the oil tube (34).
     (f) Seal all tubes and openings with CAP - BLANKING or PLUG - BLANKING.
