A. Installation of the lubrication unit:
CAUTION: USE TWO WRENCHES TO REMOVE OR INSTALL THE TUBE COUPLING NUTS:
  • ONE WRENCH TO HOLD THE UNION, AND
  • ONE TO LOOSEN OR TIGHTEN THE COUPLING NUT.
THIS PREVENTS DAMAGE TO THE PARTS.
   (1) Remove blanking plugs from disconnected line ends and from the lubrication unit.
   (2) Lightly coat the new AIPC 79-21-10-01-220 O-RING (170), AIPC 79-21-10-01-240 O-RING (180) and AIPC 79-21-10-01-260 O-RING (190) with engine oil (Material No.CP2442) .
   (3) Install the new O-rings (170), (180) and (190) on the nipples (140), (150) and (160).
   (4) Install the nipples (140) and (150) in the housing assembly and screw in place.
   (5) TORQUE the nipples to between 190 and 170 lbf.in (2.15 and 1.92 m.daN ) T.
   (6) Install the nipple (160) in the housing assembly and screw in place.
   (7) TORQUE the nipple to between 75 and 65 lbf.in (0.85 and 0.73 m.daN )
T.
   (8) Lightly coat a new
AIPC 79-21-10-01-050 O-RING (10) with engine oil (Material No.CP2442) and install in groove on lubrication unit.
   (9) Lightly coat a new AIPC 79-21-10-01-060 O-RING (20) with engine oil (Material No.CP2442) and install in drive shaft groove.
   (10) Position lubrication unit relative to accessory gearbox housing and in line with locating dowel on housing. Install unit carefully into the housing to avoid damaging or dislodging O-ring. Seat unit in housing.
   (11) Install clamp (90) on mating flanges. Apply a thin layer of graphite grease (Material No.CP2101) to the threads of the nut. TORQUE the nut to between 85 and 75 lbf.in (0.96 and 0.85 m.daN ) T.
   (12) Connect the 2 hoses to the oil differential pressure switch. TORQUE the couplings to between 110 and 90 lbf.in (1.24 and 1.02 m.daN )
T.
   (13) Install oil scavenge tubes (80), (70), (60), (50), oil return tube (100) and oil supply tube (120) as follows:
     (a) Check that mating faces are clean and in good surface condition.
