DO NOT GET THE FLUID ON YOUR SKIN OR IN YOUR EYES. IF YOU DO:
- FLUSH IT AWAY WITH CLEAN WATER
- GET MEDICAL AID.
CAUTION:
USE TWO WRENCHES TO REMOVE OR INSTALL THE TUBE COUPLING NUTS:
1. Reason for the Job- ONE WRENCH TO HOLD THE UNION, AND
- ONE TO LOOSEN OR TIGHTEN THE COUPLING NUT.

Subtask 78-36-51-941-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Safety Precautions
(1) On the center pedestal, on the ENG panel 115VU:
(a) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) to tell persons not to start the engine.
(2) Make sure that the engine 1(2) shutdown occurred not less than 5 minutes before you do this procedure.
(3) On the overhead maintenance panel 50VU:
(a) Make sure that the ON legend of the ENG/FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
(b) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) to tell persons not to energize the FADEC 1(2).

B. Get Access
(1) Open the fan cowl doors (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-040):

(2) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 1M(3 FT) in position.

C. Retract the Wing Slats

RETRACT WING SLATS BEFORE OPENING THRUST REVERSER OR DAMAGE CAN OCCUR.
(1) Retract the wing slats (Ref. AMM TASK 27-80-00-866-005) and install a WARNING NOTICE(S). E. Open the thrust reverser doors to 45 degrees position (Ref. AMM TASK 78-36-00-010-040):

A. Removal of the Thrust Reverser Half Door Opening Actuator
(1) Loosen the clamp (25) and remove the flexible cooling hose (35) or (85) from the lower cooling jacket (45) or (70).
(2) Disconnect the hydraulic hose (60) from the actuator (50) and the inner supply pipe on the half door.
(3) Put protective covers on the two ends of the hose, the inner supply pipe and the actuator.
(4) Remove and discard the cotter pins (5).
(5) Remove the nuts (10), washers (15) and bolts (20) that attach the actuator (50) to the half door and the pylon.
(6) Remove the cowl opening actuator (50).
(7) Loosen the clamps (40) that attach the cooling jackets and remove them from the cowl opening actuator (50).
(8) Remove the upper cooling jacket (55) or (65) from the cowl opening actuator.
(9) Remove the lower cooling jacket (45) or (70) from the cowl opening actuator.
(10) Loosen the clamp (25) and remove the flexible cooling hose (35) or (85) from the inlet scoop (30) or (75).
(11) For the right hand cowl opening actuator only. Loosen the nut (80) and remove from the clamp (90) from the stud pipe clip (95).
(12) For the right hand cowl opening actuator only. Remove from the clamp (90) from the flexible cooling hose (85).
(1) Loosen the clamp (25) and remove the flexible cooling hose (35) or (85) from the lower cooling jacket (45) or (70).
(2) Disconnect the hydraulic hose (60) from the actuator (50) and the inner supply pipe on the half door.
(3) Put protective covers on the two ends of the hose, the inner supply pipe and the actuator.
(4) Remove and discard the cotter pins (5).
(5) Remove the nuts (10), washers (15) and bolts (20) that attach the actuator (50) to the half door and the pylon.
(6) Remove the cowl opening actuator (50).
(7) Loosen the clamps (40) that attach the cooling jackets and remove them from the cowl opening actuator (50).
(8) Remove the upper cooling jacket (55) or (65) from the cowl opening actuator.
(9) Remove the lower cooling jacket (45) or (70) from the cowl opening actuator.
(10) Loosen the clamp (25) and remove the flexible cooling hose (35) or (85) from the inlet scoop (30) or (75).
(11) For the right hand cowl opening actuator only. Loosen the nut (80) and remove from the clamp (90) from the stud pipe clip (95).
(12) For the right hand cowl opening actuator only. Remove from the clamp (90) from the flexible cooling hose (85).
