Subtask 78-36-41-941-060-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Safety Precautions
(1) On the center pedestal, on the ENG panel 115VU:
(a) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) to tell persons not to start the engine.
(2) Make sure that the engine 1(2) shutdown occurred not less than 5 minutes before you do this procedure.
(3) On the overhead maintenance panel 50VU:
(a) Make sure that the ON legend of the ENG/FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
(b) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) to tell persons not to energize the FADEC 1(2).
Subtask 78-36-41-010-071-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) On the center pedestal, on the ENG panel 115VU:
(a) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) to tell persons not to start the engine.
(2) Make sure that the engine 1(2) shutdown occurred not less than 5 minutes before you do this procedure.

B. Get Access
(1) Open the fan cowl doors (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-040).

(2) Put an ACCESS PLATFORM 1M(3 FT) in position on the right side of the engine.

(2) Put an ACCESS PLATFORM 1M(3 FT) in position on the right side of the engine.

A. Unlock the Four Latches
(2) Pull the released latch handle down to disengage the latch hook from its attachment point on the opposite reverser door.
Subtask 78-36-41-820-055-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL WARNING:
NEVER DEPLOY THE PIVOTING DOORS HYDRAULICALLY WHEN THE HALF DOOR LATCHES ARE UNLOCKED OR DAMAGE CAN OCCUR.
(1) Push on the snap fastener of the latch to free the latch handle. (2) Pull the released latch handle down to disengage the latch hook from its attachment point on the opposite reverser door.
B. Adjustment of the Thrust Reverser Half Door Latches with a Torque Wrench
(2) Remove the lockwashers.
(3) Loosen all latch tension nuts.
(4) Fasten all latches.
(5) Disengage the latch handle without pulling hook from stirrup.
(6) Bring the half doors in to contact.
(7) TORQUE each latch tension nut in sequence from front to rear to between 99 and 81 lbf.in (1.12 and 0.92 m.daN )
(8) Do step (7) again.
(9) Check for full contact:
(b) If full contact is not obtained, check that all tension nuts do not rotate under torque application.
(c) If gap remains, check for part interfering with or preventing reverser closure and replace faulty part.
(10) Install the lockwasher and screws which attach the latch tension nut.
(11) TORQUE the screw to between 45 and 35 lbf.in (0.51 and 0.40 m.daN )
.
(12) Push upwards the latch handles.
5. Close-upNOTE: You must apply this procedure after the installation of a complete thrust reverser or after changing a reverser half door on the aircraft.
(1) Remove the screws which attach the lockwashers. (2) Remove the lockwashers.
(3) Loosen all latch tension nuts.
(4) Fasten all latches.
(5) Disengage the latch handle without pulling hook from stirrup.
(6) Bring the half doors in to contact.
(7) TORQUE each latch tension nut in sequence from front to rear to between 99 and 81 lbf.in (1.12 and 0.92 m.daN )

(8) Do step (7) again.
(9) Check for full contact:
CAUTION:
ALL LOCATING PINS MUST BE IN FULL CONTACT WITH BUSHINGS OR DAMAGE COULD OCCUR TO REVERSER.
(a) Check for full contact between each bushing and locating pin. (b) If full contact is not obtained, check that all tension nuts do not rotate under torque application.
(c) If gap remains, check for part interfering with or preventing reverser closure and replace faulty part.
(10) Install the lockwasher and screws which attach the latch tension nut.
(11) TORQUE the screw to between 45 and 35 lbf.in (0.51 and 0.40 m.daN )
. (12) Push upwards the latch handles.

B. Close Access
(1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) Close the fan cowl doors (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-410-040).

(3) Remove the access platform(s).
(4) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
