3. Job Set-up
Subtask 78-32-47-941-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL

A. Safety Precautions
(1) On the center pedestal, on the ENG panel 115VU:
(a) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) to tell persons not to start the engine.
(2) Make sure that the engine 1(2) shutdown occurred not less than 5 minutes before you do this procedure.
(3) On the overhead maintenance panel 50VU:
(a) Make sure that the ON legend of the ENG/FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
(b) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) to tell persons not to energize the FADEC 1(2).

B. Get Access
(1) Open the fan cowls (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-010):
(a) FOR [1000EM1] (ENGINE-1)
437AL 438AR.
(b) FOR [1000EM2] (ENGINE-2)
447AL 448AR.
(2) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) - ADJUSTABLE in position.

C. Deactivate the thrust reverser.

WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT THE THRUST REVERSER HYDRAULIC CONTROL UNIT (HCU) IS DEACTIVATED BEFORE YOU DO WORK ON OR AROUND THE THRUST REVERSER. IF THE HCU IS NOT DEACTIVATED, THERE IS A RISK OF UNWANTED THRUST REVERSER OPERATION WHICH CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS AND/OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.

(1) Deactivate the thrust reverser hydraulic control unit (HCU) (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-040-012).

4. Procedure
Subtask 78-32-47-020-051-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL

A. Disconnect the electrical connectors

Electrical Harness - Left C-Duct ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL

Electrical Harness Connectors - Left C-Duct ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL

(1) Disconnect the 905P connector (2) of the left C-Duct electrical harness (3) from the receptacle on the locking actuator (1) (Detail E).
(2) Disconnect the 901P connector (11) from the 901J receptacle (7) of the left C-duct electrical harness (Detail G).
(3) Disconnect the 903P connector (5) of the left C-Duct electrical harness from the receptacle on the non-locking actuator (4) (Detail F).
(4) Put CAP - BLANKING over the connectors and their receptacles.

B. Disassemble the electrical harness from the lower hydraulic tube

SBN 78-0021: Rework of the thrust reverser wiring harness installation

(1) Remove the nut (27), the washer (22), the screw (23) and the clamps (21) which attach the left C-duct electrical harness (1) to the lower hydraulic tube (28) near the non-locking actuator.

C. Remove the left C-duct electrical harness.

(1) Remove the nuts (10), the washers (9), and the screws (10). These attach the 901J receptacle (7) to the bracket (8).

(2) At five positions, remove the nuts (27), the washers (22), the screws (23) and the clamps (21) which attach the left C-Duct electrical harness (3) to the C-duct

(3) At two positions, remove the screws (23), the washers (22) the clamps (21) and the retainers (29), which attach the left C-Duct electrical harness (3) to the brackets

(4) Remove the nut (27), the screws (25), the washers (22), the spacers (26) and the clamps (24) which attach the left C-duct electrical harness (3) and the lower hydraulic tube (28) to the brackets on both sides of the non-locking actuator

(5) At two positions, remove the nuts (27), the washers (22), the screws (23) and the clamps (21) which attach the left C-duct electrical harness to the bracket

(6) Remove the Left C-duct electrical harness from the C-duct.
