WARNING: DO NOT GET THE FLUID ON YOUR SKIN OR IN YOUR EYES. IF YOU DO:
  • FLUSH IT AWAY WITH CLEAN WATER
  • GET MEDICAL AID.
CAUTION: USE TWO WRENCHES TO REMOVE OR INSTALL THE TUBE COUPLING NUTS:
  • ONE WRENCH TO HOLD THE UNION, AND
  • ONE TO LOOSEN OR TIGHTEN THE COUPLING NUT.
THIS PREVENTS DAMAGE TO THE PARTS.
CAUTION: MAKE SURE THERE IS NO UNWANTED MATERIAL IN THE PORTS AND ORIFICES OR DAMAGE CAN OCCUR.
CAUTION: YOU MUST INSTALL HYDRAULIC TUBES WITH HYDRAULIC FLUID AS LUBRICANT.

3. Job Set-up
Subtask 78-31-49-941-058-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Safety Precautions
   (1) On the center pedestal, on the ENG panel 115VU:
     (a) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) to tell persons not to start the engine.
   (2) Make sure that the engine 1(2) shutdown occurred not less than 5 minutes before you do this procedure.
   (3) On the overhead maintenance panel 50VU:
     (a) Make sure that the ON legend of the ENG/FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
     (b) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) to tell persons not to energize the FADEC 1(2).

B. Get Access
   (1) Open the fan cowl doors: (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-040)
     (a) FOR [1000EM1] (ENGINE-1)

     (b) FOR [1000EM2] (ENGINE-2)

   (2) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 1M(3 FT) in position.

C. Make the thrust reverser unserviceable (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-481-041).

D. Drain of the Right Actuator Head Supply-pipe.
   (1) Put a CONTAINER 5 L (1.32 USGAL) under the actuator of the lower blocker door.
F Forward Frame of the Half Door ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
   (2) Disconnect the head supply hose from the lower actuator and let the hydraulic fluid drain completely.
   (3) Reconnect the head supply hose on the actuator.
   (4) TORQUE nut to between 260 and 235 lbf.in (2.94 and 2.66 m.daN ) T.
   (5) Remove the container.
4. Procedure
Subtask 78-31-49-020-057-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Remove the Head Supply Pipe of the Left Actuator.
   (1) Remove the upper half clamp of upper hydraulic line bracket.
   (2) Remove the nuts and bolts.
   (3) Remove the flange and the upper half clamp.
   (4) Remove the half clamps which attach the electrical harness on the rod and head supply pipes.
     (a) Remove nut, washer, bolt and clamp.
     (b) Remove the two half clamps.
   (5) Disconnect the interface hydraulic hose from the head supply pipe of the left.
   (6) Disconnect the head supply pipe from the interface bracket and the middle hydraulic line bracket.
   (7) Remove the supply pipe.
   (8) Put the PLUG-BLANKING in each disconnected line end.
