Removal of the Interface Bracket, HCU Bracket and Hydraulic Line Middle Bracket
WARNING:
WEAR A FACE SHIELD WHICH IS RESISTANT TO HIGH PRESSURE JETS WHEN YOU WORK ON PRESSURIZED SYSTEMS.
WARNING:
DO NOT GET THE FLUID ON YOUR SKIN OR IN YOUR EYES. IF YOU DO:
- FLUSH IT AWAY WITH CLEAN WATER
- GET MEDICAL AID.
CAUTION:
USE TWO WRENCHES TO REMOVE OR INSTALL THE TUBE COUPLING NUTS:
1. Reason for the Job- ONE WRENCH TO HOLD THE UNION, AND
- ONE TO LOOSEN OR TIGHTEN THE COUPLING NUT.

A. Safety Precautions
(1) On the center pedestal, on the ENG panel 115VU:
(a) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) to tell persons not to start the engine.
(2) Make sure that the engine 1(2) shutdown occurred not less than 5 minutes before you do this procedure.
(3) On the overhead maintenance panel 50VU:
(a) Make sure that the ON legend of the ENG/FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
(b) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) to tell persons not to energize the FADEC 1(2).
Subtask 78-31-49-010-134-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) On the center pedestal, on the ENG panel 115VU:
(a) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) to tell persons not to start the engine.
(2) Make sure that the engine 1(2) shutdown occurred not less than 5 minutes before you do this procedure.

B. Get Access
(1) Open the fan cowl doors: (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-040)

(2) Put a ACCESS PLATFORM 1M(3 FT) in position.

(2) Put a ACCESS PLATFORM 1M(3 FT) in position.
Subtask 78-31-49-020-094-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Removal of the Interface Bracket, HCU Bracket and Hydraulic Line Middle Bracket:
(1) Removal of the HCU bracket:
(a) Remove the nut, the bolt and the clamp that attach the electrical harness to the HCU bracket.
(b) Put the CONTAINER 5 L (1.32 USGAL) under the HCU bracket to catch the drained fluid.
(c) Disconnect the interface hydraulic hoses from the HCU bracket and let the hydraulic fluid drain into the container.
(d) Disconnect the actuator rod and the actuator head supply pipes from the HCU bracket.
(e) Disconnect the supply pipe of the lower blocker door from the HCU bracket.
(f) Remove the bolts that attach the bracket to the hydraulic control unit.
(g) Remove the HCU bracket from the forward frame.
(2) Removal of the interface bracket:
(a) Remove the nut, the bolt and the clamp that attach the electrical harness to the HCU bracket.
(b) Put the container under the interface bracket to catch the drained fluid.
(c) Disconnect the interface hydraulic hoses from the interface bracket and let the hydraulic fluid drain into the container.
(d) Disconnect the rod and the head supply pipes from the interface bracket.
(e) Disconnect the left latch return pipe and the upper left latch supply pipes from the interface bracket.
(f) Remove the bolts that attach the bracket to the forward frame.
(g) Remove the interface bracket from the forward frame.
(3) Removal of the hydraulic line middle bracket:
(a) Manually bring the blocker door to the deploy position (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-41-860-001).
(b) Install the HIX3005 SAFETY SLEEVE - PIVOTING DOOR ACTUATOR on the blocker door actuator (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-41-480-001).
(c) Disconnect the rod and head supply pipes from the middle bracket.
(d) Remove the bolts, the washer and the upper half clamp that attach the upper head shield to the middle bracket.
(e) Disconnect the rod and the head supply junction pipes from the middle bracket.
(f) Remove the bolts and the nuts that attach the bracket to the forward frame.
(g) Carefully move the hydraulic pipes aside and remove the bracket from the forward frame.
(h) Put COVER - PROTECTION on the pipe ends.
(1) Removal of the HCU bracket:
(a) Remove the nut, the bolt and the clamp that attach the electrical harness to the HCU bracket.
(b) Put the CONTAINER 5 L (1.32 USGAL) under the HCU bracket to catch the drained fluid.
(c) Disconnect the interface hydraulic hoses from the HCU bracket and let the hydraulic fluid drain into the container.
(d) Disconnect the actuator rod and the actuator head supply pipes from the HCU bracket.
(e) Disconnect the supply pipe of the lower blocker door from the HCU bracket.
(f) Remove the bolts that attach the bracket to the hydraulic control unit.
(g) Remove the HCU bracket from the forward frame.
(2) Removal of the interface bracket:
(a) Remove the nut, the bolt and the clamp that attach the electrical harness to the HCU bracket.
(b) Put the container under the interface bracket to catch the drained fluid.
(c) Disconnect the interface hydraulic hoses from the interface bracket and let the hydraulic fluid drain into the container.
(d) Disconnect the rod and the head supply pipes from the interface bracket.
(e) Disconnect the left latch return pipe and the upper left latch supply pipes from the interface bracket.
(f) Remove the bolts that attach the bracket to the forward frame.
(g) Remove the interface bracket from the forward frame.
(3) Removal of the hydraulic line middle bracket:
(a) Manually bring the blocker door to the deploy position (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-41-860-001).
(b) Install the HIX3005 SAFETY SLEEVE - PIVOTING DOOR ACTUATOR on the blocker door actuator (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-41-480-001).
(c) Disconnect the rod and head supply pipes from the middle bracket.
(d) Remove the bolts, the washer and the upper half clamp that attach the upper head shield to the middle bracket.
(e) Disconnect the rod and the head supply junction pipes from the middle bracket.
(f) Remove the bolts and the nuts that attach the bracket to the forward frame.
(g) Carefully move the hydraulic pipes aside and remove the bracket from the forward frame.
(h) Put COVER - PROTECTION on the pipe ends.
