TASK 78-31-43-040-802-A
Locking of the Right Lower Actuator (Synchronized Manual Locking Actuator)
A. This procedure gives the instructions to lock the right lower actuator.
This actuator is also known as the synchronized manual locking actuator.
B. When the synchronized manual locking actuator is locked, the translating cowl cannot move manually or hydraulically. You can lock the synchronized manual locking actuator as a safety precaution before you do maintenance.
C. You can lock the synchronized manual locking actuator with the translating cowl in any position (fully stowed, fully deployed or in any position between stowed and deployed).
D. The locking procedure is only done during maintenance. When the maintenance is complete, you must do the unlocking procedure. Never permit flight with a synchronized manual locking actuator in the locked condition.
