   (1) Do the procedure to prevent engine motoring
(Ref. AMM TASK 71-00-00-860-833).

B. Deactivation of the Thrust Reverser for Ground Maintenance
WARNING: YOU MUST DEACTIVATE THE THRUST REVERSER BEFORE YOU DO WORK ON OR AROUND IT. IF YOU DO NOT, THE THRUST REVERSER CAN OPERATE ACCIDENTALLY AND CAUSE AN INJURY AND/OR DAMAGE.
   (1) Do the deactivation of the thrust reverser system for ground maintenance (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-040-805).

C. Get Access
   (1) Put an ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) - ADJUSTABLE in position.
4. Procedure

A. Removal of the Hinge Access Panels
CAUTION: WIPE CLEAN ALL PARTS AND TOOLS AS NECESSARY TO REMOVE UNWANTED DEBRIS AND PREVENT DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE.
   (1) Remove the hinge access panels (1) and (4) for the left thrust reverser, engine 1.
     (a) Remove the 11 bolts (2) that attach the forward hinge access panel (1) (451DL) to the thrust reverser hinge beam.
     (b) Remove the forward hinge access panel (1) (451DL).
     (c) Remove the 11 bolts (3) that attach the aft hinge access panel (4) (451EL) to the thrust reverser hinge beam.
     (d) Remove the aft hinge access panel (4) (451EL).
   (2) Remove the hinge access panels (12) and (14) for the right thrust reverser, engine 1.
     (a) Remove the 11 bolts (13) that attach the forward hinge access panel (14) (452DR) to the thrust reverser hinge beam.
     (b) Remove the forward hinge access panel (14) (452DR).
     (c) Remove the 11 bolts (11) that attach the aft hinge access panel (12) (452ER) to the thrust reverser hinge beam.
     (d) Remove the aft hinge access panel (12) (452ER).
   (3) Remove the hinge access panels (21) and (24) for the left thrust reverser, engine 2.
     (a) Remove the 11 bolts (22) that attach the forward hinge access panel (21) (461DL) to the thrust reverser hinge beam.
     (b) Remove the forward hinge access panel (21) (461DL).
     (c) Remove the 11 bolts (23) that attach the aft hinge access panel (24) (461EL) to the thrust reverser hinge beam.
     (d) Remove the aft hinge access panel (24) (461EL).
   (4) Remove the hinge access panels (32) and (34) for the right thrust reverser, engine 2.
     (a) Remove the 11 bolts (33) that attach the forward hinge access panel (34) (462DR) to the thrust reverser hinge beam.
     (b) Remove the forward hinge access panel (34) (462DR).
     (c) Remove the 11 bolts (31) that attach the aft hinge access panel (32) (462ER) to the thrust reverser hinge beam.
     (d) Remove the aft hinge access panel (32) (462ER).
   (5) Installation of the protection covers
CAUTION: INSTALL PROTECTION COVERS ON ALL THE OPENINGS IMMEDIATELY TO PREVENT DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE.
     (a) Make sure that you install COVER - PROTECTION as necessary to prevent damage to the engine.
