Reactivation of Thrust Reverser
WARNING:
BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU DO WORK ON THE ENGINE PARTS AFTER THE ENGINE SHUTDOWN. USE APPLICABLE THERMAL GLOVES. THE ENGINE PARTS CAN STAY HOT FOR ONE HOUR AFTER SHUTDOWN AND CAN BURN YOU.

Subtask 78-30-00-941-063-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Safety Precautions
(1) On the center pedestal, on the ENG panel 115VU:
(a) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) to tell persons not to start the engine.
(2) Make sure that the engine 1(2) shutdown occurred not less than 5 minutes before you do this procedure.
(3) On the overhead maintenance panel 50VU:
(a) Make sure that the ON legend of the ENG/FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
(b) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) to tell persons not to energize the FADEC 1(2).

(a) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) to tell persons not to start the engine.
(2) Make sure that the engine 1(2) shutdown occurred not less than 5 minutes before you do this procedure.

B. Get Access
(1) Open the fan cowl doors: (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-040)

(2) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 1M(3 FT) in position.
4. Procedure(1) Open the fan cowl doors: (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-040)

(2) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 1M(3 FT) in position.
Subtask 78-30-00-440-058-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Reactivation of the thrust reverser
(1) Remove the screws (5) that attach the lockout fairings (6) to the storage bracket (4).
(2) Remove the bolts (3) that attach the lockplates (1) to the blocker door.
(3) Remove the lockout bolts (2) from the blocker doors.
(4) Install lockout bolts (2) in the storage bracket (4).
(5) Attach the lockplates (1) to the storage bracket (4) with the bolts (3).
(6) TORQUE bolt (3) to between 40 and 30 lbf.in (0.45 and 0.34 m.daN )

(7) Attach the lockout fairings (6) to the blocker doors with the screws (5).
(8) TORQUE screw (5) to between 17 and 15 lbf.in (0.19 and 0.17 m.daN )
.
(9) Make the Thrust Reverser Serviceable.
(a) Remove the quick-release pin that holds the inhibit lever on the HCU in the OFF position (see sheet.2).
(b) Move the inhibit lever from the OFF position to the operational position (see sheet.1).
(c) Install the quick-release pin in its operational position.
5. Close-up(1) Remove the screws (5) that attach the lockout fairings (6) to the storage bracket (4).
(2) Remove the bolts (3) that attach the lockplates (1) to the blocker door.
(3) Remove the lockout bolts (2) from the blocker doors.
(4) Install lockout bolts (2) in the storage bracket (4).
(5) Attach the lockplates (1) to the storage bracket (4) with the bolts (3).
(6) TORQUE bolt (3) to between 40 and 30 lbf.in (0.45 and 0.34 m.daN )
. (7) Attach the lockout fairings (6) to the blocker doors with the screws (5).
(8) TORQUE screw (5) to between 17 and 15 lbf.in (0.19 and 0.17 m.daN )
. (9) Make the Thrust Reverser Serviceable.

A. Close Access
(1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) Remove the access platform(s).
(3) Close the fan cowl doors (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-410-040):

(4) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).

(2) Remove the access platform(s).
(3) Close the fan cowl doors (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-410-040):

(4) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
B. Do an operational test:
(1) Do an operational test of the thrust reverser system (Ref. AMM TASK 78-31-00-710-040).
(1) Do an operational test of the thrust reverser system (Ref. AMM TASK 78-31-00-710-040).
NOTE: As an alternative procedure you can do this operational test without the CFDS:
- first method with engine not running (Ref. AMM TASK 78-31-00-710-040)
- second method with engine running (Ref. AMM TASK 78-31-00-710-040).
