Removal of the Core Nozzle Assembly

THUS IT CAN HAVE DIFFERENT OPERATION CONDITIONS AND A DIFFERENT LIFE RECORD (FLIGHT HOURS/FLIGHT CYCLES/CALENDAR) FROM THE AIRCRAFT IT IS INSTALLED ON OR REMOVED FROM. A. Make the thrust reverser unserviceable (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-481-041).

B. Safety Precautions
   (1) On the center pedestal, on the ENG panel 115VU:
     (a) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) to tell persons not to start the engine.
   (2) Make sure that the engine 1(2) shutdown occurred not less than 5 minutes before you do this procedure.
   (3) On the overhead maintenance panel 50VU:
     (a) Make sure that the ON legend of the ENG/FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
     (b) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) to tell persons not to energize the FADEC 1(2).

   (1) Open the fan cowl doors: (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-040)

Subtask 78-11-11-020-050-B ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
WARNING: THE CORE NOZZLE ASSEMBLY WEIGHS APPROXIMATELY 162 POUNDS (73,5 KG). MAKE SURE YOU SAFELY SUPPORT THE CORE NOZZLE ASSEMBLY AND KEEP IT AWAY FROM OTHER ENGINE PARTS.
A. Removal of the core nozzle assembly.
NOTE: Foam can be put between the centerbody and the Core Nozzle Assembly
   (1) Remove the Turbine Rear Frame (TRF) drain tube (20). (Ref. AMM TASK 71-73-49-000-005)
   (2) Remove the bolts (25), washers (30), and nuts (10) that attach the core nozzle assembly (5) to the engine flange (88 locations).
   (3) Remove the core nozzle assembly (5) from the engine.
