Removal of the EGT Right Harness, EGT Left Harness and EGT Junction Box - POST SB 77-0012
1. Reason for the Job
This task provides the procedure applicable for POST SB 77-0012 Exhaust Gas Temperature (EGT) harness and junction box only and has instructions to remove the EGT harness details (junction box, left harness and right harness) individually. To remove the EGT harness and junction box as a complete set, refer to AMM Task 77-21-43-000-010-B.

Removal of the EGT Right Harness, EGT Left Harness and EGT Junction Box - POST SB 77-0012
1. Reason for the Job
This task provides the procedure applicable for POST SB 77-0012 Exhaust Gas Temperature (EGT) harness and junction box only and has instructions to remove the EGT harness details (junction box, left harness and right harness) individually. To remove the EGT harness and junction box as a complete set, refer to AMM Task 77-21-43-000-010-B.

EGT Harness and Junction Box - POST SB 77-0012Subtask 77-21-43-941-060-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Safety Precautions
(1) On the center pedestal, on ENG panel 115VU:
(a) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to start the engine.
(2) Make sure that the engine 1(2) shutdown occurred not less than five minutes before you do this procedure.
(3) On maintenance panel 50VU:
(a) Make sure that the ON legend of the ENG/FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
(b) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to energize FADEC 1(2).
Subtask 77-21-43-010-072-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) On the center pedestal, on ENG panel 115VU:
(a) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to start the engine.
(2) Make sure that the engine 1(2) shutdown occurred not less than five minutes before you do this procedure.
(3) On maintenance panel 50VU:
(a) Make sure that the ON legend of the ENG/FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.

4. ProcedureWARNING:
MAKE SURE THAT THE THRUST REVERSER HYDRAULIC CONTROL UNIT (HCU) IS DEACTIVATED BEFORE YOU DO WORK ON OR AROUND THE THRUST REVERSER. IF THE HCU IS NOT DEACTIVATED, THERE IS A RISK OF UNWANTED THRUST REVERSER OPERATION WHICH CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS AND/OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
(1) Deactivate the thrust reverser Hydraulic Control Unit (HCU) (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-040-012). (2) Open the thrust reverser halves: (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-00-010-010)

Subtask 77-21-43-020-055-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Removal of the Right EGT Harness
(1) Remove the right EGT harness from the EGT thermocouple.
(a) Remove the two nuts (28), the two nuts (30), the two washers (29) and the two washers (31) that attach the right EGT harness lugs to the thermocouple connection at 2 locations.
(b) Remove the harness lugs from the thermocouple connections.
(c) Install the washers and nuts back on to the thermocouple connections.
(2) Disconnect the right EGT harness at the flange T and the flange P locations.
(a) Remove the nuts (8) which attach the harness clamps to the brackets (9) on the flange T.
(b) Remove the bolts (4), (24) and the nuts (2), (26) which attach the harness clamps to the brackets (3) and (25) on the flange P.
(c) Remove the bolt (18) which attach the right EGT harness clamps to the bracket (19) on the case boss at the bottom of the case.
(d) Remove the bolt (6) and the nut (5) which attach the right EGT harness clamp to the clamp (7) on the P4.9 manifold.
(3) Remove the right EGT harness from the EGT junction box.
(b) Remove the screws (42) that secure the EGT harness to the EGT junction box and remove the half-loop clamps (41).
(c) Remove the four nuts (15) and disconnect the right EGT harness from the EGT junction box terminals.
(d) Place the left EGT harness and the EGT core harness (16) back and install the four nuts (15) back on to the junction box terminals.
Subtask 77-21-43-020-056-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Remove the right EGT harness from the EGT thermocouple.
(a) Remove the two nuts (28), the two nuts (30), the two washers (29) and the two washers (31) that attach the right EGT harness lugs to the thermocouple connection at 2 locations.
(b) Remove the harness lugs from the thermocouple connections.
(c) Install the washers and nuts back on to the thermocouple connections.
(2) Disconnect the right EGT harness at the flange T and the flange P locations.
(a) Remove the nuts (8) which attach the harness clamps to the brackets (9) on the flange T.
(b) Remove the bolts (4), (24) and the nuts (2), (26) which attach the harness clamps to the brackets (3) and (25) on the flange P.
(c) Remove the bolt (18) which attach the right EGT harness clamps to the bracket (19) on the case boss at the bottom of the case.
(d) Remove the bolt (6) and the nut (5) which attach the right EGT harness clamp to the clamp (7) on the P4.9 manifold.
(3) Remove the right EGT harness from the EGT junction box.
WARNING:
USE PROTECTIVE GOGGLES AND GLOVES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL LOCKWIRE. EACH TIME YOU CUT LOCKWIRE, REMOVE AND DISCARD IT IMMEDIATELY. LOOSE LOCKWIRE CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND, AND/OR CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.
(a) Remove the lockwire and the screws (13) which attach the junction box cover (14). (b) Remove the screws (42) that secure the EGT harness to the EGT junction box and remove the half-loop clamps (41).
(c) Remove the four nuts (15) and disconnect the right EGT harness from the EGT junction box terminals.
(d) Place the left EGT harness and the EGT core harness (16) back and install the four nuts (15) back on to the junction box terminals.
B. Removal of the Left EGT Harness
(1) Remove the left EGT harness from the EGT thermocouple.
(a) Remove the two nuts (28), the two nuts (30), the two washers (29) and the two washers (31) that attach the left EGT harness lugs to the thermocouple connection at 2 locations.
(b) Remove the harness lugs from the thermocouple connections.
(c) Install the washers and nuts back on to the thermocouple connections.
(2) Disconnect the left EGT harness at the flange T and the flange P locations.
(a) Remove the nuts (8) which attach the harness clamps to the brackets (9) on the flange T.
(b) Remove the bolts (20), (27) and the nuts (1), (22) which attach the harness clamps to the brackets (21) and (23) on the flange P.
(c) Remove the bolt (18) which attach the left EGT harness clamps to the bracket (19) on the case boss at the bottom of the case.
(d) Remove the bolt (6) and the nut (5) which attach the left EGT harness clamp to the clamp (7) on the P4.9 manifold.
(3) Remove the left EGT harness from the EGT junction box.
(b) Remove the screws (42) that secure the EGT harness to the EGT junction box and remove the half-loop clamps (41).
(c) Remove the four nuts (15) and disconnect the left EGT harness from the EGT junction box terminals.
(d) Place the right EGT harness and the EGT core harness (16) back and install the four nuts (15) back on to the junction box terminals.
Subtask 77-21-43-020-057-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Remove the left EGT harness from the EGT thermocouple.
(a) Remove the two nuts (28), the two nuts (30), the two washers (29) and the two washers (31) that attach the left EGT harness lugs to the thermocouple connection at 2 locations.
(b) Remove the harness lugs from the thermocouple connections.
(c) Install the washers and nuts back on to the thermocouple connections.
(2) Disconnect the left EGT harness at the flange T and the flange P locations.
(a) Remove the nuts (8) which attach the harness clamps to the brackets (9) on the flange T.
(b) Remove the bolts (20), (27) and the nuts (1), (22) which attach the harness clamps to the brackets (21) and (23) on the flange P.
(c) Remove the bolt (18) which attach the left EGT harness clamps to the bracket (19) on the case boss at the bottom of the case.
(d) Remove the bolt (6) and the nut (5) which attach the left EGT harness clamp to the clamp (7) on the P4.9 manifold.
(3) Remove the left EGT harness from the EGT junction box.
WARNING:
USE PROTECTIVE GOGGLES AND GLOVES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL LOCKWIRE. EACH TIME YOU CUT LOCKWIRE, REMOVE AND DISCARD IT IMMEDIATELY. LOOSE LOCKWIRE CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND, AND/OR CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.
(a) Remove the lockwire and the screws (13) which attach the junction box cover (14). (b) Remove the screws (42) that secure the EGT harness to the EGT junction box and remove the half-loop clamps (41).
(c) Remove the four nuts (15) and disconnect the left EGT harness from the EGT junction box terminals.
(d) Place the right EGT harness and the EGT core harness (16) back and install the four nuts (15) back on to the junction box terminals.
C. Removal of the EGT Junction Box
(1) Remove the EGT junction box from the bracket (17).
(b) Remove the screws (42) that secure the EGT harness to the EGT junction box and remove the half-loop clamps (41).
(c) Remove the four nuts (15) and disconnect the right and left EGT harnesses from the EGT junction box terminals.
(d) Remove the bolts (12) and the nuts (10) which hold the junction box to the bracket (17).
(e) Remove the EGT junction box from the bracket (17).
(1) Remove the EGT junction box from the bracket (17).
WARNING:
USE PROTECTIVE GOGGLES AND GLOVES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL LOCKWIRE. EACH TIME YOU CUT LOCKWIRE, REMOVE AND DISCARD IT IMMEDIATELY. LOOSE LOCKWIRE CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND, AND/OR CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.
