Removal of the Low Pressure Compressor (LPC) Bleed-Master Actuator
WARNING:
BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU DO WORK ON THE ENGINE PARTS AFTER THE ENGINE SHUTDOWN. USE APPLICABLE THERMAL GLOVES. THE ENGINE PARTS CAN STAY HOT FOR ONE HOUR AFTER SHUTDOWN AND CAN BURN YOU.
CAUTION:
DO NOT LET ENGINE FUEL OR OIL FALL ON THE ENGINE. UNWANTED FUEL OR OIL MUST BE REMOVED IMMEDIATELY WITH A CLEAN LINT FREE CLOTH. THE FUEL OR OIL CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE SURFACE PROTECTION AND TO SOME PARTS.

A. Safety Precautions
(1) On the center pedestal, on ENG panel 115VU:
(a) Put the WARNING NOTICE(S) to tell persons not to start the engine.
(2) Make sure that the engine 1(2) shutdown occurred not less than five minutes before you do this procedure.
(3) On overhead maintenance panel 50VU:
(a) Make sure that the ON legend of the ENG/FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
(b) Put the WARNING NOTICE(S) to tell persons not to energize FADEC 1(2).
Subtask 75-31-42-010-053-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) On the center pedestal, on ENG panel 115VU:
(a) Put the WARNING NOTICE(S) to tell persons not to start the engine.
(2) Make sure that the engine 1(2) shutdown occurred not less than five minutes before you do this procedure.

B. Get Access
(1) Open the fan cowls (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-010):

(2) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) - ADJUSTABLE in position.

C. Deactivate the thrust reverser
Subtask 75-31-42-010-054-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL WARNING:
MAKE SURE THAT THE THRUST REVERSER HYDRAULIC CONTROL UNIT (HCU) IS DEACTIVATED BEFORE YOU DO WORK ON OR AROUND THE THRUST REVERSER. IF THE HCU IS NOT DEACTIVATED, THERE IS A RISK OF UNWANTED THRUST REVERSER OPERATION WHICH CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS AND/OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
(1) Deactivate the thrust reverser Hydraulic Control Unit (HCU) (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-040-012). D. Open the thrust reverser halves (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-00-010-010):

A. Disconnect the electrical connectors 4021KS-A (1) and 4021KS-B (2) from the master actuator.
Subtask 75-31-42-020-058-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL B. Disconnect the drain tube.
(1) Put a container to collect any drain fuel from the master actuator.
(2) Cut and discard the lockwire which safeties the connector.
(3) Disconnect the drain tube (3).
Subtask 75-31-42-020-059-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Put a container to collect any drain fuel from the master actuator.
(2) Cut and discard the lockwire which safeties the connector.
(3) Disconnect the drain tube (3).
C. Disconnect the servo return fuel tube.
(1) Disconnect the servo return fuel tube (11).
Pre SBE 73-0116
(a) Remove the bolt (45), washer (44) and nut (42) which attach the clip (41) to the servo return fuel tube (11) as shown in detail C.
(b) Remove the bolt (63), the two washers (62), the spacer (65) and the nut (61) which attach the clips (64) and (66) as shown in detail E.
(d) Disconnect the servo return fuel tube (11).
(e) Remove and discard the sealing ring (10).
(2) Disconnect the servo return fuel tube (11).
SBE 73-0116: Revised external fuel tube
(a) Remove the bolt (45), washer (44) and nut (42) which attach the clip (41) to the servo return fuel tube as shown in detail C.
(b) Remove the bolt (66), spacer (67), washer (68) and nut (69) which attach the clip (70) to the servo supply fuel tube as shown in detail E.
(d) Disconnect the servo return fuel tube (11).
(e) Remove and discard the sealing ring (10).
(3) Disconnect the servo return fuel tube (11).

(a) Remove the bolt (45), washer (44) and nut (42) which attach the clip (41) to the servo return fuel tube as shown in detail C.

(d) Disconnect the servo return fuel tube (11).
(e) Remove and discard the sealing ring (10).

(2) Disconnect the servo return fuel tube (11).
SBE 73-0116: Revised external fuel tube
(a) Remove the bolt (45), washer (44) and nut (42) which attach the clip (41) to the servo return fuel tube as shown in detail C.
(b) Remove the bolt (66), spacer (67), washer (68) and nut (69) which attach the clip (70) to the servo supply fuel tube as shown in detail E.

(a) Remove the bolt (45), washer (44) and nut (42) which attach the clip (41) to the servo return fuel tube as shown in detail C.

D. Disconnect the servo supply fuel tube.

(1) Remove the bolt (56), the two washers (53), the spacer (51) and the nut (52), which attach the clip (55) to the raceway (54) at Detail D.
(2) Cut and discard the lockwire which safeties the connector.
(3) Disconnect the servo supply fuel tube (9).
(4) Remove and discard the sealing ring (8).

(1) Remove the bolt (56), washer (53) and clip (57) which attaches to EBU harness, the spacer (58) and (51) and nut (52), which attach the clip (55) to the raceway (54) at detail D.
(3) Disconnect the servo supply fuel tube (9).
(4) Remove and discard the sealing ring (8).

(1) Remove the bolt (56), washer (53) and clip (57) which attaches to EBU harness, the spacer (58) and (51) and nut (52), which attach the clip (55) to the raceway (54) at detail D.
WARNING:
USE GOGGLES AND GLOVES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL LOCKWIRE. EACH TIME YOU CUT LOCKWIRE, REMOVE AND DISCARD IT IMMEDIATELY. LOOSE LOCKWIRE CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND, AND/OR CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.

G. Disconnect the servo extend fuel tube.
(1) Remove the bolt (82) and the washer (81) which attach the clips (85) and (86) to the bracket (83) at Detail F.
(2) Remove the bolt (91), the two washers (92) and the nut (94) which attach the clips (93) and (95) to each other at Detail G.
(3) Cut and discard the lockwire which safeties the connector.
(4) Disconnect the servo extend fuel tube (6).
(5) Remove and discard the sealing ring (7).
Subtask 75-31-42-020-063-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Remove the bolt (82) and the washer (81) which attach the clips (85) and (86) to the bracket (83) at Detail F.
(2) Remove the bolt (91), the two washers (92) and the nut (94) which attach the clips (93) and (95) to each other at Detail G.
(3) Cut and discard the lockwire which safeties the connector.
(4) Disconnect the servo extend fuel tube (6).
(5) Remove and discard the sealing ring (7).
H. Disconnect the servo retract fuel tube.
(1) Cut and discard the lockwire which safeties the connector.
(2) Disconnect the servo retract fuel tube (5).
(3) Remove and discard the sealing ring (4).
Subtask 75-31-42-020-064-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Cut and discard the lockwire which safeties the connector.
(2) Disconnect the servo retract fuel tube (5).
(3) Remove and discard the sealing ring (4).
I. Disconnect the raceway from the bracket.
(1) Remove the bolt (31) and the washer (30) which attach the raceway (29) to the bracket (26).
Subtask 75-31-42-020-065-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Remove the bolt (31) and the washer (30) which attach the raceway (29) to the bracket (26).
J. Remove the master actuator.
(1) Bend back the keys on the double key washer (25) which safeties the bolt (24) to the piston-jack fork end (34).
(2) Remove the bolt (24) and the key washer (25) and disconnect the fork end (34) from the bleed valve actuating rod (35). Discard the key washer.
(3) Remove the bolts (28) and (33) and remove the master actuator (32) and the bracket (26) from the actuator bracket (21).
(4) Drain the remaining fuel in the master actuator into the container, if it is necessary.
Subtask 75-31-42-620-051-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Bend back the keys on the double key washer (25) which safeties the bolt (24) to the piston-jack fork end (34).
(2) Remove the bolt (24) and the key washer (25) and disconnect the fork end (34) from the bleed valve actuating rod (35). Discard the key washer.
(3) Remove the bolts (28) and (33) and remove the master actuator (32) and the bracket (26) from the actuator bracket (21).
(4) Drain the remaining fuel in the master actuator into the container, if it is necessary.
K. Put the applicable COVER - PROTECTION on all the openings.
