BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU DO WORK ON THE ENGINE PARTS AFTER THE ENGINE SHUTDOWN. USE APPLICABLE THERMAL GLOVES. THE ENGINE PARTS CAN STAY HOT FOR ONE HOUR AFTER SHUTDOWN AND CAN BURN YOU.

A. Safety Precautions
(1) On the center pedestal, on the ENG panel 115VU:
(a) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) to tell persons not to start the engine.
(2) Make sure that the engine 1(2) shutdown occurred not less than 5 minutes before you do this procedure.
(3) On the overhead maintenance panel 50VU:
(a) Make sure that the ON legend of the ENG/FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
(b) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) to tell persons not to energize the FADEC 1(2).
Subtask 75-23-49-010-052-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) On the center pedestal, on the ENG panel 115VU:
(a) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) to tell persons not to start the engine.

B. Get Access
(1) Open the fan cowls (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-010):

(2) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) - ADJUSTABLE in to position.

(2) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) - ADJUSTABLE in to position.
C. Deactivate the thrust reverser.
Subtask 75-23-49-010-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL WARNING:
MAKE SURE THAT THE THRUST REVERSER HYDRAULIC CONTROL UNIT (HCU) IS DEACTIVATED BEFORE YOU DO WORK ON OR AROUND THE THRUST REVERSER. IF THE HCU IS NOT DEACTIVATED, THERE IS A RISK OF UNWANTED THRUST REVERSER OPERATION WHICH CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS AND/OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
(1) Deactivate the thrust reverser hydraulic control unit (HCU) (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-040-012). D. Open the thrust reverser halves (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-00-010-010):

A. Remove the TCA tube (2) from the engine.
(1) Remove the bolt (3) and the two bolts (8), the nut (5) and the two nuts (6) and the two clamps (4) and (7) from the TCA tube (2).
(2) Remove the four bolts (11) and the bracket (10) from the HP compressor case.
(3) Remove the lockwire and remove the four bolts (1) from the HP turbine case.
(4) Remove the TCA tube (2) from the engine.
(5) Remove the two metal C seals (12) and (9).
(6) Discard the seals.
Subtask 75-23-49-020-051-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Remove the bolt (3) and the two bolts (8), the nut (5) and the two nuts (6) and the two clamps (4) and (7) from the TCA tube (2).
(2) Remove the four bolts (11) and the bracket (10) from the HP compressor case.
(3) Remove the lockwire and remove the four bolts (1) from the HP turbine case.
(4) Remove the TCA tube (2) from the engine.
(5) Remove the two metal C seals (12) and (9).
(6) Discard the seals.
B. Remove the TCA tube (2) from the engine.
(1) Remove the two bolts (3) and (8), the two nuts (4) and (6) and the two clamps (5) and (7) from the TCA tube (2).
(2) Remove the four bolts (9) from the HP compressor case.
(3) Remove the lockwire and remove the four bolts (11) from the HP turbine case.
(4) Remove the TCA tube (2) from the engine.
(5) Remove the two metal C seals (1) and (10).
(6) Discard the seals.
Subtask 75-23-49-020-052-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Remove the two bolts (3) and (8), the two nuts (4) and (6) and the two clamps (5) and (7) from the TCA tube (2).
(2) Remove the four bolts (9) from the HP compressor case.
(3) Remove the lockwire and remove the four bolts (11) from the HP turbine case.
(4) Remove the TCA tube (2) from the engine.
(5) Remove the two metal C seals (1) and (10).
(6) Discard the seals.
C. Remove the TCA tube (2) from the engine.
(1) Remove the two bolts (3) and (7), the two nuts (5) and (6) and the two clamps (4) and (8) from the TCA tube (2).
(2) Remove the four bolts (11) from the HP compressor case.
(3) Remove the lockwire and remove the four bolts (10) from the HP turbine case.
(4) Remove the TCA tube (2) from the engine.
(5) Remove the two metal C seals (1) and (9).
(6) Discard the seals.
Subtask 75-23-49-020-053-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Remove the two bolts (3) and (7), the two nuts (5) and (6) and the two clamps (4) and (8) from the TCA tube (2).
(2) Remove the four bolts (11) from the HP compressor case.
(3) Remove the lockwire and remove the four bolts (10) from the HP turbine case.
(4) Remove the TCA tube (2) from the engine.
(5) Remove the two metal C seals (1) and (9).
(6) Discard the seals.
D. Remove the TCA tube (2) from the engine.
(1) Remove the two bolts (4) and (8), the two nuts (3) and (6) and the two clamps (5) and (7) from the TCA tube (2).
(2) Remove the four bolts (15) from the HP compressor case.
(3) Remove the bolt (12), the nut (10) and the clamp (11) from the bracket (13).
(4) Remove the lockwire and remove the four bolts (9) and bracket (13) from the HP turbine case.
(5) Remove the TCA tube (2) from the engine.
(6) Remove the two metal C seals (1) and (14).
(7) Discard the seals.
(1) Remove the two bolts (4) and (8), the two nuts (3) and (6) and the two clamps (5) and (7) from the TCA tube (2).
(2) Remove the four bolts (15) from the HP compressor case.
(3) Remove the bolt (12), the nut (10) and the clamp (11) from the bracket (13).
(4) Remove the lockwire and remove the four bolts (9) and bracket (13) from the HP turbine case.
(5) Remove the TCA tube (2) from the engine.
(6) Remove the two metal C seals (1) and (14).
(7) Discard the seals.
