WARNING: BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU DO WORK ON THE ENGINE PARTS AFTER THE ENGINE SHUTDOWN. USE APPLICABLE THERMAL GLOVES. THE ENGINE PARTS CAN STAY HOT FOR ONE HOUR AFTER SHUTDOWN AND CAN BURN YOU.

A. Safety Precautions
   (1) On the center pedestal, on ENG panel 115VU:
     (a) Make sure that the ENG/MODE selector switch is in the NORM position.
     (b) Make sure that the ENG/MASTER 1(2) control switch was in the OFF position not less than five minutes before you do this procedure.
     (c) Put WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to operate:
  • The ENG/MODE selector switch
  • The ENG/MASTER 1(2) control switch.
   (2) On the ENG section of maintenance panel 50VU:
     (a) Make sure that the ON legend of the FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
     (b) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to energize FADEC 1(2).

B. Get Access
   (1) Open the fan cowl doors (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-803):
     (a) FOR [4020KM1] (POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE, ENGINE 1)

   (2) Put an ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) - ADJUSTABLE in position.
4. Procedure
Subtask 73-21-60-020-061-A
A. Removal of the HJ6A Engine Wiring Harness (4143KS)
CAUTION: MAKE SURE THAT THE ELECTRICAL CONNECTORS ARE CLEAN BEFORE YOU DISCONNECT OR CONNECT THEM. CONTAMINATION ON THE ELECTRICAL CONNECTORS CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
CAUTION: USE PLIERS THAT HAVE TEFLON JAWS TO TIGHTEN OR LOOSEN THE ELECTRICAL CONNECTORS. DO NOT USE PLIERS THAT HAVE METAL JAWS. METAL JAWS CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE ELECTRICAL CONNECTORS.
   (1) Disconnection of the HJ6A engine wiring harness (4143KS) (1):
NOTE: If necessary, use PLIERS - JAWED, SOFT to disconnect the electrical connectors.
     (a) Disconnect the HJ6A engine wiring harness (1) connector from the EEC channel A J6 receptacle (4601KS1) (5) (at the 2 o'clock position).
     (b) Disconnect the HJ6A engine wiring harness (1) connector from the oil level sensor (4075KS) (6) (at the 4 o'clock position).
     (c) Disconnect the HJ6A engine wiring harness (1) connector from the pressure sub-system channel A receptacle (4700KS) (20) (at the 4:30 o'clock position).
     (d) Disconnect the HJ6A engine wiring harness (1) connector from the nacelle anti-ice pressure sensor (4003DN) (26) (at the 3 o'clock position).
     (e) Disconnect the HJ6A engine wiring harness (1) connector from the T12 Sensor channel receptacle (4001KS) (32) (at the 3 o'clock position).
     (f) Disconnect the HJ6A engine wiring harness (1) connector from the fuel filter differential pressure sensor (4002KS) (33) (at the 12 o'clock position).
     (g) Disconnect the HJ6A engine wiring harness (1) connector from the fuel strainer differential pressure sensor (4081KS) (36) (at the 11 o'clock position).
     (h) Disconnect the HJ6A engine wiring harness (1) connector from the oil pressure and temperature sensor channel A receptacle (4079KS) (38) (at the 10 o'clock position).
     (i) Disconnect the HJ6A engine wiring harness (1) connector (45) from the starter air valve (4005KS) receptacle (46) (at the 9 o'clock position).
     (j) Disconnect the HJ6A engine wiring harness (1) connector (48) from the starter air valve (4005KS) receptacle (47) (at the 9 o'clock position).
     (k) Disconnect the HJ6A engine wiring harness (1) connector from the N2 sensor channel A receptacle (4065KS) (52) (at the 9 o'clock position).
     (l) Disconnect the HJ6A engine wiring harness (1) connector from the oil filter differential pressure sensor (4077KS) (53) (at the 8 o'clock position).
     (m) Remove the two bolts (16) that attach the connector socket (13) to the bracket (15).
     (n) Disconnect the connector socket (13) that attaches the bracket (15) to the HJ6B engine wiring harness connector (4144KS) (17) (at the 3 o'clock position).
     (o) Remove the two bolts (18) that attach the connector socket (19) to the bracket (15).
     (p) Disconnect the connector socket (19) that attaches the bracket (15) to the HJ5B engine wiring harness connector (14) (at the 3 o'clock position).
   (2) Removal of the nuts and bolts from the clamps that attach to the HJ6A engine wiring harness (1) :
     (a) Remove the nut (25) and bolt (23) from the clamp (24).
     (b) Remove the nut (29) and bolt (31) from the clamp (30).
     (c) Remove the nut (40) and bolt (39) from the clamp (41) and clamp (37).
     (d) Remove the nut (54) and bolt (55) from the clamp (56).
   (3) Removal of the bolts from the clamps that attach to the HJ6A engine wiring harness (1):
     (a) Remove the bolt (3) from the clamp (4).
     (b) Remove the bolt (11) from the clamp (12).
     (c) Remove the bolt (9) from the clamp (10).
     (d) Remove the bolt (7) from the clamp (8).
     (e) Remove the bolt (21) from the clamp (22).
     (f) Remove the bolt (28) from the clamp (27).
     (g) Remove the bolt (35) from the clamp (34).
     (h) Remove the bolt (42) from the clamp (43).
     (i) Remove the bolt (50) from the clamp (51).
     (j) Remove the bolt (49) from the clamp (44).
   (4) Remove the HJ6A engine wiring harness (1) from the 35 clips (2) along its routing.
   (5) Remove carefully the HJ6A engine wiring harness (1) from the engine.
   (6) Install the COVER - PROTECTION and the CAP - PROTECTION on all the open ports, open tubes, open hoses and disconnected connectors.
