A. Safety Precautions
   (1) On the center pedestal, on ENG panel 115VU:
     (a) Make sure that the ENG/MODE selector switch is in the NORM position.
     (b) Make sure that the ENG/MASTER 1(2) control switch was in the OFF position not less than five minutes before you do this procedure.
     (c) Put WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to operate:
  • The ENG/MODE selector switch, and
  • The ENG/MASTER 1(2) control switch.
   (2) On the ENG section of maintenance panel 50VU:
     (a) Make sure that the ON legend of the FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
     (b) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to energize FADEC 1(2).

B. Get Access
   (1) Open the fan cowl doors (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-803):
     (a) FOR [4020KM1] (POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE, ENGINE 1)

4. Procedure
Subtask 73-21-40-020-052-A
A. Removal of the PMA Stator
   (1) Disconnection of the harness electrical connectors from the PMA stator (1):
CAUTION: MAKE SURE THAT THE ELECTRICAL CONNECTORS ARE CLEAN BEFORE YOU DISCONNECT OR CONNECT THEM. CONTAMINATION ON THE ELECTRICAL CONNECTORS CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
     (a) Disconnect the HJ3A harness electrical connector (4) from the HJ3A harness receptacle (5).
     (b) Disconnect the HJ3B harness electrical connector (3) from the HJ3B harness receptacle (2).
   (2) Removal of the PMA stator (1):
     (a) Make sure that the mating surfaces are clean and clear of unwanted materials.
     (b) Lubricate the guide pins.
WARNING: USE PERSONAL PROTECTION EQUIPMENT. USE THE ENGINE OIL IN A WELL-VENTILATED AREA. ENGINE OIL IS TOXIC.
       1 Lubricate the threads of the four 956A3506G01 SET, GUIDE PINS / JACK SCREWS - PMA INSTALL/REMOVE with the engine oil (Material No.CP2442) .
     (c) Remove one bolt (10), one washer (11) and one bolt (9) in the opposite position and one washer (8) from the PMA stator (1).
     (d) Install two 956A3506G01 SET, GUIDE PINS / JACK SCREWS - PMA INSTALL/REMOVE in opposite positions through the bolt holes of the PMA stator (1) to the Accessory Gearbox (AGB) pad.
     (e) Remove the second bolt (10), the second washer (11) and the second bolt (9) in the opposite position and the second washer (8) from the PMA stator (1).
     (f) Install the last two 956A3506G01 SET, GUIDE PINS / JACK SCREWS - PMA INSTALL/REMOVE through the bolt holes of the PMA stator (1) to the AGB pad.
     (g) Remove the PMA stator (1) along the 956A3506G01 SET, GUIDE PINS / JACK SCREWS - PMA INSTALL/REMOVE.
     (h) Remove the two screws (7) and discard the gasket (6) from the PMA stator (1).
     (i) Remove the four 956A3506G01 SET, GUIDE PINS / JACK SCREWS - PMA INSTALL/REMOVE from the AGB pad.
   (3) Install the COVER - PROTECTION and CAP - PROTECTION on all the open ports, open tubes, open hoses and the disconnected connectors.
