A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
   (1) On the center pedestal, on the ENG panel 115VU, make sure that a WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to start the engine.
   (2) On the overhead maintenance panel 50VU, make sure that the ON legend of the ENG/FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off. Make sure that a WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to energize the FADEC 1(2).

A. Removal of the coked oil
CAUTION: THE MAGNETIC SEALS ARE MATCHED ASSEMBLIES. IF ONE OF THE COMPONENTS IS DAMAGED, YOU MUST REPLACE THE COMPLETE SEAL.
   (1) With acetone (Material No.CP1039) or isopropyl alcohol (Material No.CP1041) or stoddard solvent (Material No.CP2011) or ardrox 552 (Material No.CP2559) or turco ind 79 (Material No.CP2560) or mag-chem teksol (Material No.CP2566) or degreasol 99 R (Material No.CP2584) or mag-chem skysol (Material No.CP2656) remove the coked oil which possibly remains on the gearshaft area related to the rotary part of the magnetic seal, to prevent possible damage to the O-ring (70) at installation.
Subtask 72-63-00-420-057-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
B. Installation of the Magnetic Seal
   (1) Removal of the magnetic seal assembly
CAUTION: USE GLOVES WHEN YOU HANDLE THE MAGNETIC SEALS TO PREVENT CONTAMINATION. MAKE SURE THAT THE FACE OT THE MAGNETIC SEAL WHICH TOUCHES THE CARBON SEAL IS THE POLISHED SURFACE.
     (a) Remove the magnetic seal assembly from the storage box. Put on gloves to do this.
   (2) Apply a thin layer of engine oil (Material No.CP2442) to the following new 0-rings:
   (3) Install the 0-ring (70) in the inner groove of the carbon ring assy (60).
   (4) Apply a thin layer of engine oil (Material No.
CP2442) to the following new 0-rings:
   (5) Install the 0-ring (50) in the outer groove of the seal housing (20).
   (6) Removal of the carbon ring assy.
CAUTION: DO NOT HIT THE CARBON MATING FACE OR SLIDE IT ON THE MAGNETIZED MATING RING WHEN YOU REMOVE THE ROTATING RING.
     (a) Separate the carbon ring assy (60) from housing assy (20). Remove the tissue paper and apply a thin layer of engine oil (Material No.
CP2442) to the carbon mating face.
   (7) Installation of the carbon ring assembly.
CAUTION: MAKE SURE THAT PARTICLES; EVEN OF EXTREMELY SMALL SIZE, ARE NOT LEFT BETWEEN THE POLISHED FACE OF THE MAGNETIC RING AND THE CARBON FACE OF THE ROTATING RING ASSEMBLY DURING INSTALLATION. OTHERWISE LEAK CAN OCCUR.
     (a) Very carefully install the carbon ring assembly (60) against the mating housing assy (20). Make sure that the carbon mating face touches the polished face on the magnetic ring. Align the rotating ring assembly with the housing bore.
   (8) Moving of the magnetic seal assembly.
CAUTION: DO NOT TAP THE MAGNETIC SEAL HOUSING TO INSTALL IT IN ITS RECESS. TO PREVENT SEPARATION OF THE MAGNETIC SEAL COMPONENTS IT IS IMPORTANT TO DO AS DESCRIBED BELOW.
     (a) Engage the magnetic seal assembly in the AGB until the O-ring (50) of the magnetic seal housing is fully against the bearing housing.
   (9) Apply a thin layer of graphite grease (Material No.CP2101) to the 3 nuts (40) and washers (30), and progressively lower the assembly with the 3 nuts until the seal housing flange is fully against the face of the bearing housing.
   (10) TORQUE the nuts to between 33 and 29 lbf.in (0.37 and 0.33 m.daN ) T.
