A. Safety Precautions
   (1) On the center pedestal, on ENG panel 115VU:
     (a) Make sure that the ENG/MODE selector switch is in the NORM position.
     (b) Make sure that the ENG/MASTER 1(2) control switch was in the OFF position not less than five minutes before you do this procedure.
     (c) Put the WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to operate:
  • The ENG/MODE selector switch and
  • The ENG/MASTER 1(2) control switch.
   (2) On the ENG section of maintenance panel 50VU:
     (a) Make sure that the ON legend of the FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
     (b) Put the WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to energize FADEC 1(2).

B. Get Access
   (1) Open the fan cowl doors (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-803):
     (a) FOR [4020KM1] (POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE, ENGINE 1)
437AL 438AR.
     (b) FOR [4020KM2] (POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE, ENGINE 2)
447AL 448AR.
4. Procedure
Subtask 72-62-00-020-056-A
WARNING: USE PERSONAL PROTECTION EQUIPMENT. USE THE ENGINE OIL IN A WELL-VENTILATED AREA. ENGINE OIL IS TOXIC.
CAUTION: DO NOT LET ENGINE OIL FALL ON THE ENGINE. UNWANTED OIL MUST BE REMOVED IMMEDIATELY. THE OIL CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE SURFACE PROTECTION AND TO SOME PARTS.
A. Disconnection of the Slider
   (1) Put the CONTAINER 5 L (1.32 USGAL) below the transfer gearbox assembly (1).
   (2) Disconnection of the oil tube (3) from the transfer gearbox assembly (1):
CAUTION: USE TWO WRENCHES TO LOOSEN OR TIGHTEN THE TUBE COUPLING NUT. ONE WRENCH TO HOLD THE UNION AND ONE TO LOOSEN OR TIGHTEN THE COUPLING NUT. THIS PREVENTS DAMAGE TO THE HARDWARE.
     (a) Loosen the coupling nut (4) to disconnect the oil tube (3) from the union (5) of the transfer gearbox assembly (1).
     (b) Disconnect the oil tube (3).
     (c) Let the oil drain into the CONTAINER 5 L (1.32 USGAL).
   (3) Removal of the fire shield blanket (9):
     (a) Remove the three pins (10) that lock the fire shield blanket (9).
     (b) Remove the fire shield blanket (9).
   (4) Remove the four bolts (14) that attach the transfer gearbox assembly (1) to the accessory gearbox (12).
   (5) Remove the two retainer segments (13).
   (6) Install the 956A7606 FIXTURE, REMOVE/INSTALL - TGB SLIDE on the transfer gearbox assembly (1).
   (7) Move back the slider (15) with the 956A7606 FIXTURE, REMOVE/INSTALL - TGB SLIDE.
   (8) Remove the 956A7606 FIXTURE, REMOVE/INSTALL - TGB SLIDE from the transfer gearbox assembly (1).
   (9) Remove the CONTAINER 5 L (1.32 USGAL) from below the transfer gearbox assembly (1).
   (10) Install the COVER - PROTECTION and the CAP - PROTECTION on all the openings, tubes, hoses and connectors.
