BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU DO WORK ON THE ENGINE PARTS AFTER THE ENGINE SHUTDOWN. USE APPLICABLE THERMAL GLOVES. THE ENGINE PARTS CAN STAY HOT FOR ONE HOUR AFTER SHUTDOWN AND CAN BURN YOU.

A. Safety Precautions
(1) On the center pedestal, on ENG panel 115VU:
(a) Put the WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to start the engine.
(2) Make sure that engine 1(2) shutdown occurred not less than five minutes before you do this procedure.
(3) On overhead maintenance panel 50VU:
(a) Make sure that the ON legend of the ENG/FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
(b) Put the WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to energize FADEC 1(2).
Subtask 72-60-31-010-052-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) On the center pedestal, on ENG panel 115VU:
(a) Put the WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to start the engine.
(2) Make sure that engine 1(2) shutdown occurred not less than five minutes before you do this procedure.
(3) On overhead maintenance panel 50VU:

B. Get Access
(1) Open the fan cowls (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-010):

4. Procedure(1) Open the fan cowls (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-010):
(a) FOR [1000EM1] (ENGINE-1)

A. Removal of the Deoiler Seal Assembly
(1) Remove the deoiler seal assembly (Ref. AMM TASK 72-60-31-000-010).
Subtask 72-60-31-960-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Remove the deoiler seal assembly (Ref. AMM TASK 72-60-31-000-010).
B. Replacement of the Seal of the Seal Assembly
(1) Remove the seal (1) from the airport casing:
(a) Install the seal assembly onto the base of the IAE1F10068 PUSHER - REMOVAL with the seal (1) facing to the bottom.
(b) Install the drift of the IAE1F10068 PUSHER - REMOVAL onto the seal (1) from the top of the seal assembly.
(c) Push the drift until the seal (1) is fully removed from the seal assembly.
(d) Remove the IAE1F10068 PUSHER - REMOVAL and remove the airport casing from the base.
(2) Install the new AIPC 72-60-31-80-050 SEAL (1) on the airport casing:
(b) Install the airport casing onto the base of the IAE1F10071 TOOL, INSTALLATION OF CARBON SEAL with the smaller inner diameter to the bottom.
(c) Put the seal (1) over the airport casing with the sealing face to the top.
(d) Push the drift of the IAE1F10071 TOOL, INSTALLATION OF CARBON SEAL until the seal (1) is fully installed on the airport casing.
(e) Remove the seal assembly from the IAE1F10071 TOOL, INSTALLATION OF CARBON SEAL.
Subtask 72-60-31-420-051-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Remove the seal (1) from the airport casing:
(a) Install the seal assembly onto the base of the IAE1F10068 PUSHER - REMOVAL with the seal (1) facing to the bottom.
(b) Install the drift of the IAE1F10068 PUSHER - REMOVAL onto the seal (1) from the top of the seal assembly.
(c) Push the drift until the seal (1) is fully removed from the seal assembly.
(d) Remove the IAE1F10068 PUSHER - REMOVAL and remove the airport casing from the base.
(2) Install the new AIPC 72-60-31-80-050 SEAL (1) on the airport casing:
WARNING:
DO NOT TOUCH HOT PARTS WITHOUT APPLICABLE GLOVES. HOT PARTS CAN CAUSE AN INJURY.
(a) Put the airport casing into the OVEN, TEMPERATURE RANGE 285 DEG.F (141 DEG.C) and increase the temperature to 250 DEG.F (121 DEG.C) maximum. (b) Install the airport casing onto the base of the IAE1F10071 TOOL, INSTALLATION OF CARBON SEAL with the smaller inner diameter to the bottom.
(c) Put the seal (1) over the airport casing with the sealing face to the top.
(d) Push the drift of the IAE1F10071 TOOL, INSTALLATION OF CARBON SEAL until the seal (1) is fully installed on the airport casing.
(e) Remove the seal assembly from the IAE1F10071 TOOL, INSTALLATION OF CARBON SEAL.
C. Installation of the Deoiler Seal Assembly
(1) Install the deoiler seal assembly (Ref. AMM TASK 72-60-31-400-010).
5. Close-up(1) Install the deoiler seal assembly (Ref. AMM TASK 72-60-31-400-010).
Subtask 72-60-31-410-051-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Close Access
(1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) Close the fan cowls (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-410-010):
(a) FOR [1000EM1] (ENGINE-1)

(b) FOR [1000EM2] (ENGINE-2)

B. Put the aircraft back to its initial configuration.
