A. Safety Precautions
   (1) On the center pedestal, on ENG panel 115VU:
     (a) Make sure that the ENG/MODE selector switch is in the NORM position.
     (b) Make sure that the ENG/MASTER 1(2) control switch was in the OFF position not less than five minutes before you do this procedure.
     (c) Put WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to operate:
  • The ENG/MODE selector switch, and
  • The ENG/MASTER 1(2) control switch.
   (2) On the ENG section of maintenance panel 50VU:
     (a) Make sure that the ON legend of the FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
     (b) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to energize FADEC 1(2).

   (1) Put an ACCESS PLATFORM 1M(3 FT) in position.

A. Removal of the 18 Fan Blade Platforms
WARNING: WHEN YOU REMOVE/INSTALL THE FAN BLADE PLATFORM, BE CAREFUL NOT TO HIT THE T12 SENSOR. IF YOU DO, THE T12 SENSOR CAN CAUSE INJURY TO YOU.
CAUTION: REMOVE THE PARTS IN THE SPECIFIED SEQUENCE AT EACH LOCATION. THIS WILL PREVENT DAMAGE TO THE EQUIPMENT.
   (1) Install the 956A7616 MAT, PROTECTION - INLET COWL on the inlet cowl.
   (2) Put marks on the 18 fan blade platforms (2):
     (a) Find the fan blade platform No. 1.
NOTE: The fan blade platform No. 1 is immediately at the right of the fan blade No. 1 when it is at the 12 o'clock position.
     (b) Use the temporary marking (Material No.CP5061) to make a mark and identify as the fan blade platform No.1.
NOTE: The fan blade platform No. 1 is immediately at the right of the fan blade No. 1 when it is at the 12 o'clock position.
     (c) Number the remaining fan blade platforms (2) in the same Counter Clockwise (CCW) direction from fan blade platform No. 2 to fan blade platform No. 18.
NOTE: This is CCW when you look on the front of the engine.
   (3) Remove the platform front shroud (1) (Ref. AMM TASK 72-21-60-000-801).
   (4) Remove the fan blade platform No. 1 from the fan disk (3) at 6 o'clock.
   (5) Remove the remaining 17 fan blade platforms (2) from the fan disk (3) at 6 o'clock.
