3. Job Set-up
Subtask 72-21-60-941-050-A

A. Safety Precautions
(1) On the center pedestal, on ENG panel 115VU:
(a) Make sure that the ENG/MODE selector switch is in the NORM position.
(b) Make sure that the ENG/MASTER 1(2) control switch was in the OFF position not less than five minutes before you do this procedure.
(c) Put WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to operate:

The ENG/MODE selector switch, and
The ENG/MASTER 1(2) control switch.

(2) On the ENG section of maintenance panel 50VU:
(a) Make sure that the ON legend of the FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
(b) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to energize FADEC 1(2).
(3) Put an ACCESS PLATFORM 1M(3 FT) in position.

4. Procedure

WARNING: BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL THE PLATFORM FRONT SHROUD. THE FAN BLADE PLATFORMS CAN FALL AND CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE EQUIPMENT OR INJURY TO THE PERSONNEL.

Subtask 72-21-60-020-050-A

A. Removal of the platform front shroud
(1) Install the 956A7616 MAT, PROTECTION - INLET COWL (3) on the inlet cowl.
(2) Remove the front spinner (2) (Ref. AMM TASK 72-21-40-000-801).
(3) Paste 18 pieces of Robot tape N°7912 (Material No.CP2234) between the 18 fan blades (9) and the 18 fan blade platforms (4).
(4) Install the 956A6090G02 FIXTURE, REMOVE - PLATFORM FRONT SHROUD (6) on the platform front shroud (1).

NOTE: The tool shall not be installed into the offset hole.

(5) Remove the 18 bolts (7) that attach the platform front shroud (1) to the fan disk (5).
(6) Remove the platform front shroud (1) from the fan disk (5).
(7) Remove the 956A6090G02 FIXTURE, REMOVE - PLATFORM FRONT SHROUD (6) from the platform front shroud (1).
(8) Remove and discard the silicone O-ring (8).
(9) Remove the 18 equipped self-locking barrel nuts (10) from the fan disk (5).
(10) Remove the 18 floating barrel retainers (11) from the 18 self-locking barrel nuts (10).
