BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU DO WORK ON THE ENGINE PARTS AFTER THE ENGINE SHUTDOWN. USE APPLICABLE THERMAL GLOVES. THE ENGINE PARTS CAN STAY HOT FOR ONE HOUR AFTER SHUTDOWN AND CAN BURN YOU.

A. Safety Precautions
(1) On the center pedestal, on ENG panel 115VU:
(a) Make sure that the ENG/MODE selector switch is in the NORM position.
(b) Make sure that the ENG/MASTER 1(2) control switch was in the OFF position not less than five minutes before you do this procedure.
(c) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to operate:
(a) Make sure that the ON legend of the FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
(b) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to energize FADEC 1(2).
(3) Install the 98N7160H003-000 INLET PROTECTIVE RUG.
4. Procedure(1) On the center pedestal, on ENG panel 115VU:

B. Do the visual inspection:
(1) If an amount of anodizing is missing and if you do not need to blend, do the spot touch-up of the film oxide coating. Refer to condition one (Para. 4.C.).
(2) If you need to blend in the limits given in Table 801, refer to condition two (Para. 4.D.).
(3) If you cannot blend in the limits given in Table 801, replace the part (Ref. AMM TASK 72-21-40-000-801) and (Ref. AMM TASK 72-21-40-400-801).
Subtask 72-21-40-320-050-A (1) If an amount of anodizing is missing and if you do not need to blend, do the spot touch-up of the film oxide coating. Refer to condition one (Para. 4.C.).
(2) If you need to blend in the limits given in Table 801, refer to condition two (Para. 4.D.).
(3) If you cannot blend in the limits given in Table 801, replace the part (Ref. AMM TASK 72-21-40-000-801) and (Ref. AMM TASK 72-21-40-400-801).
C. (1) Local anodizing touch-up.
(a) Do the spot touch-up of the full hard anodizing of areas where anodizing is missingSPM 706214 .

D. Condition Two: Remove the local surface deviation from Area A as follows:
(a) (b) Do the finishing as follows:
CP2721 abrasive cloth, silicon carbide to get a clean and smooth surface.
(2) Remove the grease from the part with a clean Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) soaked in acetone (Material No.CP1039) , methyl ethyl ketone (Material No.CP1040) or isopropyl alcohol (Material No.CP1041) .
(3) Do the Fluorescent Penetrant Inspection (FPI).
(a) Locally etch all the blended areas with S1096 aluminum alloys etchantSPM 705311 .
(b) Do the FPISPM 703213 or SPM 703223 .
1 No cracks permitted.
(4) Do the local anodizing touch-up.
(a) Refer to condition one (Para. 4.C.).
5. Close-upCAUTION:
DO NOT BLEND RADIUS "D". IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THIS INSTRUCTION, DAMAGE CAN OCCUR.

CAUTION:
DURING THE POLISHING OPERATION, MAKE SURE THAT YOU REMOVE ONLY THE NECESSARY QUANTITY OF PARENT METAL.

(3) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
