   (5) Clean Area G with a lint-free cotton cloth (Material No.P05-005) wet with P11-078alcohol, isopropyl.
   (6) Apply a layer of chromate conversion coating on the repaired area and any aluminium surfaces that are unprotected by SPOP 42 (Ref. AMM TASK 70-28-00-910-803).
   (7) Cleaning of the repair surface:
CAUTION: LET THE ALCOHOL DRY FOR 20 MINUTES MINIMUM BEFORE YOU APPLY THE BOND SEALANT. IF YOU DO NOT LET THE ALCOHOL DRY, IT CAN CAUSE CONTAMINATION OF THE ADHESIVE BOND.
     (a) Let the repair surface air dry for 20 minutes minimum after cleaning with P11-078alcohol, isopropyl.
   (8) Installation of new seal:
CAUTION: DO NOT GET MASKING TAPE ON THE BOND SURFACE. IF YOU GET MASKING TAPE ADHESIVE ON THE BOND SURFACE, IT WILL CAUSE CONTAMINATION OF THE SEALANT AND SEPARATION OF THE SEAL DURING ENGINE OPERATION.
     (a) Install the new seal on the splitter seal with masking tape or clamps.
   (9) Cut the seal to get the 0.04 in. (1.02 mm) maximum space between the ends of the seal.
   (10) Put the seal into position so that the space is not aligned with the notch, Area E.
   (11) Remove the masking tape, clamps and seal.
   (12) Clean the seal in Area F with a clean lint-free cotton cloth (Material No.P05-005) wet with P11-078alcohol, isopropyl.

   (16) Application of silicon sealant:
CAUTION: MAKE SURE THAT YOU APPLY THE BOND SEALANT IN AN AREA THAT HAS NO OIL, FUMES OR DUST. ALL MATERIALS, TOOLING, FIXTURES AND HANDLING EQUIPMENT MUST HAVE NO CONTAMINATION. IF YOU DO NOT BOND IN A CLEAN AREA, THERE CAN BE CONTAMINATION OF THE ADHESIVE BOND.
CAUTION: CURE THE SEALANT UNDER CONDITIONS OF A MINIMUM OF 50 PERCENT RELATIVE HUMIDITY AND TEMPERATURE OF 21 - 35 DEG. C (70 - 95 DEG. F). IF YOU DO NOT BOND IN THE CORRECT CONDITIONS, THE ADHESIVE BOND WILL NOT BE STRONG.
     (a) Apply P09-014sealant, silicone rubber or P09-027sealant, silicone rubber to cover the bond surface of the fitting:
1 Install the seal on the fairing assembly. Make sure that the seal is installed at the necessary locations.
   (17) Apply P09-014sealant, silicone rubber or P09-027sealant, silicone rubber to cover the bond surface of the fitting:
     (a) Install the seal to the fairing assembly. Make sure that the seal is installed at the necessary locations.
   (18) Apply P09-014sealant, silicone rubber or P09-027sealant, silicone rubber to fully cover the ends of the seal:
     (a) Bond the ends of the seal.

NOTE: The sealant must be visible around all the edges and at the gap between the ends of the seal.
   (20) Make the sealant smooth at the forward and aft edges where it bonds to the fairing.
   (21) Cure the sealant for a minimum of 24 hours at room temperature and a minimum of 50 percent relative humidity.
