A. Safety Precautions
(1) Do the procedure to prevent engine motoring (Ref. AMM TASK 71-00-00-860-833).

B. Get Access
(1) Open the fan cowl doors (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-802):
(a) FOR [4020KM1] (POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE, ENG 1)

(b) FOR [4020KM2] (POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE, ENG 2)
447AL, 448AR.
(2) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 1M(3 FT) in position.
4. Procedure(1) Open the fan cowl doors (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-802):
(a) FOR [4020KM1] (POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE, ENG 1)

(b) FOR [4020KM2] (POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE, ENG 2)
447AL, 448AR.
(2) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 1M(3 FT) in position.
CAUTION:
WIPE CLEAN ALL PARTS AND TOOLS AS NECESSARY TO REMOVE UNWANTED DEBRIS AND PREVENT DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE.
Subtask 72-21-00-320-060-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL A. Blend the Surface Damage of the Fan-Case-Assembly Metal Area
(1) Blend the surface damage on the forward flange plate and the aft ring support of the fan case assembly by SPOP 533 (Ref. AMM TASK 70-28-00-910-802) and as follows:

(a) Blend is not permitted on any attached detail parts.
(b) Blend is not permitted in any inner diameter of the holes and counterbores.
(c) Blend is not permitted if the parts have a crack.
(d) The blend length must be a minimum of 20 times the maximum blend depth in all the directions.
(e) Remove the minimum amount of parent material to complete the repair.
(f) The depths mentioned in this repair represent the maximum blend depths permitted after the repair and not the depths of damage before repair.
(2) Blend the surface damage on the flange segment by SPOP 532 (Ref. AMM TASK 70-28-00-910-801) and as follows:

(a) Blend is not permitted on any attached detail parts.
(b) Blend is not permitted if the parts have a crack.
(c) The dimensions given in this repair represent the maximum blend depth permitted after repair and not the depth of damage before repair.
(d) The blend length must be a minimum 20 times the maximum depth of blend in all the directions.
(e) Remove the minimum amount of parent material to complete the repair.
(3) Do the fluorescent penetrant inspection of the repaired areas by SPOP 70 (Ref. AMM TASK 70-25-00-910-801):
(a) Use the normal sensitivity penetrant.
(4) If any part marking has been removed, restore the part marking (Ref. AMM TASK 70-40-00-910-801) as follows:
(a) On the forward flange plate, restore the part marking by ink, in a non−blend repaired area.
(b) On the aft ring support and flange segment, restore the part marking by vibration peening.
(5) Apply chromate conversion coating touch−up on the unprotected aluminum surface(s) on the blend repaired area(s), on the forward flange plate and on the blend repaired and the marking area(s) on the aft ring support of the fan case assembly by SPOP 42 (Ref. AMM TASK 70-28-00-910-803).
(6) Examine the assembly for foreign objects damage and correct assembly.
5. Close-up(1) Blend the surface damage on the forward flange plate and the aft ring support of the fan case assembly by SPOP 533 (Ref. AMM TASK 70-28-00-910-802) and as follows:

A. Close Access
(1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) Remove the access platform(s).
(3) Close the fan cowl doors (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-410-802):

(b) FOR [4020KM2] (POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE, ENG 2)

(4) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
(1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) Remove the access platform(s).
(3) Close the fan cowl doors (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-410-802):
