(b) Abrade the repair area with emery paper (Material No.P05-055) to make sure that all loose or lifted fluoroelastomer is removed. You can useP05-138 cloth, aluminum oxide and P05-204 cloth, aluminum oxide abrasive as an alternative to emery paper.
(2) Clean the repair areas by PWA 83-D4. Refer to (Ref. AMM TASK 70-27-00-910-810).
(3) Apply a PAPER - MASKING to areas with no damage as a protection.
(4) Application of fluoroelastomer coating:
P05-372 PWA 36516 coating, fluoroelastomer (black) as follows:
1 Use aP05-067 brush, soft bristle, nonmetallic and apply sufficient layers to make the repaired area flush to 0.010 in. (0.25 mm) above the adjacent undamaged coating. Let each layer dry for a minimum of 20 minutes between each new layer applied.
P05-372 PWA 36516−5 coating, fluoroelastomer (black) or P05-372 PWA 36516−6 coating, fluoroelastomer (black) flush to the adjacent black layer in area R below the white layer. Put P05-374 PWA 36516 coating, fluoroelastomer on the coat as follows:
1 If necessary, to apply the coat smoothly, add PMC 1914 acetone (Material No.P11-065) to the mixture to make it more liquid.
2 Use aP05-067 brush, soft bristle, nonmetallic and apply sufficient layers to make the repaired area 0.005 in. (0.127 mm) to 0.015 in. (0.381 mm) after the cure. Let each layer dry for a minimum of 20 minutes between each new layer applied.
(5) Remove the PAPER - MASKING from the protected areas.
(6) Cure the repaired areas as follows:
