A. Preservation Procedure for Exceeded Long Term Preservation Period
   (1) If the engine preservation period is expired, refer to your CFMI representative for instruction.
NOTE: An engineering analysis must be used to analyze the situation applicable to each special case. As a minimum, the following parameters are to be provided:
(1) LEAP engine model and engine serial number.
(2) Engine TSN and CSN.
(3) Date of last preservation task performed and reference of the task.
  • In case of multiple renewal procedure performed, provide complete history and dates.
(4) Date of next expected preservation or run.
(5) Total period of improper preservation.
  • Detail if maximum extended period allowed in preservation renewal for engine that has expired preservation (Ref. AMM TASK 72-00-00-620-807) has been reached.
(6) Confirm that the last preservation task was performed properly, with the following steps done, as applicable:
  • Oil system preserved
  • Fuel system preserved
  • Variable bleed valves were closed and/or sealed with a vapor barrier film or alternative grid protection
  • All open tubes, hoses and electrical connections were capped and plugged
  • Desiccant bags and humidity indicators were installed and monitoring history
  • Engine inlet and exhausts were sealed with vapor barrier film
  • Engine covers were installed (whole engine or inlet and exhaust only).
(7) Desiccant bags replacement history and humidity indicators monitoring history.
(8) Engine storage locations and conditions with the information that follows:
  • Inside storage or outside storage
  • Temperature variation and humidity level encountered during out of operation period
  • Confirm exposure to windmilling, if engine stored outside without cover.
(9) Date when the engine will be available for preservation (the latest possible, in order to know how long the period without preservation renewal will be).
(10) In particular case of an engine which had an IFSD, confirmation that dry-out and re-lubrication were performed within 24 hours after IFSD.
(11) Is the engine going to shop visit?
