3. Job Set-up
Subtask 71-71-42-860-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
   (1) On the center pedestal, on the ENG panel 115VU, make sure that a WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to start the engine.
   (2) On the overhead maintenance panel 50VU, make sure that the ON legend of the ENG/FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off. Make sure that a WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to energize the FADEC 1(2).

B. Get Access
   (1) Make sure that the fan cowl doors are open (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-010):
   (2) FOR [1000EM1] (ENGINE-1)

C. Remove the appropriate covers/caps/plugs from the openings.

D. Clean the Drains Mast
   (1) Use a clean Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) made moist with the V01-076Methyl Ethyl Ketone, Technical grade to clean the replacement parts and their interfaces.
4. Procedure
Subtask 71-71-42-420-051-B ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Install the Drains Mast
NOTE: Make sure that you install the drain mast in the correct direction.
   (1) Remove any metal swarf or loose dirt from the drains mast (4) mating surface and collector plate (5) mating surface with a stiff nylon brush (Material No.V02-087) .
   (2) Clean the mating surface of the drains mast (4) and the mating surface of the collector plate (5) with a clean lint free cloth Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) made moist with V01-076Methyl Ethyl Ketone, Technical grade.
   (3) Apply the cold curing silicone (Material No.V08-013) . Apply the necessary thickness with the use of an applicable hand tool such as a spatula or small trowel.
NOTE: Use sealant (Material No.V08-074) as an alternative to the silicone compound.
   (4) Align the four bolt holes on the collector plate assembly (5) with the holes in the drains mast (4) and press together.
   (5) Loosely install the four bolts (3) and hold the collector plate assembly (5) and the drains mast (4) on the engine in the correct position for installation.
Subtask 71-71-42-420-053-B ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
B. Attach the Nine Drain Tubes
   (1) Attach the drain tubes to their appropriate connections.
   (2) TORQUE the bolts (3) to between 110 and 90 lbf.in (1.24 and 1.02 m.daN ) T (Ref. AMM TASK 70-23-11-911-013).
   (3) Removal of unwanted sealant
     (a) Wipe away any unwanted sealant (squeeze out) from the drain mast (4) and the collector plate assembly (5) with a clean lint-free cloth Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) made moist with V01-076Methyl Ethyl Ketone, Technical grade.
   (4) Hold each tube with an applicable wrench.
   (5) TORQUE the connectors (6) thru (12) to between 115 and 105 lbf.in (1.30 and 1.19 m.daN ) T (Ref. AMM TASK 70-23-11-911-013).
   (6) TORQUE the connector (13) to between 160 and 140 lbf.in (1.81 and 1.58 m.daN ) T (Ref. AMM TASK 70-23-11-911-013).
   (7) TORQUE the connector (14) to between 180 and 160 lbf.in (2.03 and 1.81 m.daN ) T (Ref. AMM TASK 70-23-11-911-013).
   (8) Safety the connections with lockwire (Material No.V02-126) (Ref. AMM TASK 70-40-11-911-014).
5. Close-up

A. Close Access
   (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
   (2) Close the fan cowls (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-410-010):

   (5) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
