Removal of the T2 Probe

A. Safety Precautions
   (1) Do the procedure to prevent engine motoring and to stop the electrical supply to the Electronic Engine Control (EEC)
(Ref. AMM TASK 71-00-00-860-832).

B. Get Access
   (1) Open the fan cowl doors (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-802):
     (a) FOR [4020KM1] (POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE, ENG 1)

     (b) FOR [4020KM2] (POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE, ENG 2)

   (2) Put an ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) - ADJUSTABLE in position.
4. Procedure
CAUTION: WIPE CLEAN ALL PARTS AND TOOLS AS NECESSARY TO REMOVE UNWANTED DEBRIS AND PREVENT DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE.
Subtask 71-61-12-020-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Removal of the T2 Probe
   (1) Remove the T2 probe (1) from the inlet cowl as follows:
     (a) Remove the aft bulkhead T2 panel (Ref. AMM TASK 71-61-11-000-801).
     (b) Disconnect the wiring harness connector (D1000P) from the T2 probe (1) with the PLIERS - JAWED, SOFT.
     (c) Install COVER - PROTECTION on the wiring harness connector (D1000P) and the T2 probe (1).
     (d) Temporarily attach the wiring harness (D1000P) to the engine structure with tying tape (Material No.PU1-0028) or equivalent.
NOTE: You can use teflon fiberglass lacing tape (Material No.PU1-0049) or lacing tape (Material No.PU1-0092) as an alternative to tying tape (Material No.PU1-0028) .
     (e) Remove the sealant on the bolt (2), washers (3), nut (5) and ground wire (4) lug on the T2 probe with a SCRAPER - NON METALLIC.
     (f) Remove the bolt (2), two washers (3), ground wire (4) and nut (5) from the T2 probe (1).
     (g) Remove the four nuts (6) that attach the T2 probe (1) to the inlet cowl.
     (h) Remove the T2 probe (1) from the inlet cowl.
   (2) Installation of the protection covers:
CAUTION: INSTALL PROTECTION COVERS ON ALL THE OPENINGS IMMEDIATELY TO PREVENT DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE.
     (a) Make sure that you install COVER - PROTECTION as necessary to prevent damage to the engine.
