BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU DO WORK ON THE ENGINE PARTS AFTER THE ENGINE SHUTDOWN. USE APPLICABLE THERMAL GLOVES. THE ENGINE PARTS CAN STAY HOT FOR ONE HOUR AFTER SHUTDOWN AND CAN BURN YOU.

A. Safety Precautions
(1) On the center pedestal, on the ENG panel 115VU:
(a) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to start the engine.
(2) Make sure that the engine 1(2) shutdown occurred not less than 5 minutes before you do this procedure.
(3) On the overhead maintenance panel 50VU:
(a) Make sure that the ON legend of the ENG/FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
(b) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to energize the FADEC 1(2).

(a) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to start the engine.

B. Get Access
(1) Open the fan cowls (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-010):

(2) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) - ADJUSTABLE in position.

C. Deactivate the Thrust Reverser
Subtask 71-52-43-010-083-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL WARNING:
MAKE SURE THAT THE THRUST REVERSER HYDRAULIC CONTROL UNIT (HCU) IS DEACTIVATED BEFORE YOU DO WORK ON OR AROUND THE THRUST REVERSER. IF THE HCU IS NOT DEACTIVATED, THERE IS A RISK OF UNWANTED THRUST REVERSER OPERATION WHICH CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS AND/OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
(1) Deactivate the thrust reverser Hydraulic Control Unit (HCU) (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-040-012). D. Open the thrust reverser halves (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-00-010-010):

A. Disconnection of the Voltage Divider Harness Assembly
(1) Remove the nut (13), the terminal lug (D) of the voltage divider harness assembly and the trim balance sensor lead 4000VS-8 of the fan speed/trim balance probes harness from the bolt assembly (9).
(2) Remove the clip point CP6150.
(a) Remove the bolt (5) and the nut (6) that attach the grounding terminal lug (E) of the voltage divider harness assembly and the clip (7) to the bracket (4) at the clip point CP6150.
(b) Remove the grounding terminal lug (E) of the voltage divider harness assembly.
(c) Remove the bolt assembly (9) from the clip (7).
(3) Remove the clip point CP6151.
(a) Remove the bolt (3), the bracket (4) and the spacer (2) from the terminal block (1) at the clip point CP6151.
(b) Remove the nut (11) and the washer (12) that attaches the terminal lug (A1) of the voltage divider harness assembly to the stud (14) of the terminal block (1).
(c) Remove the terminal lug (A1) of the voltage divider harness assembly from the stud (14) of the terminal block (1).
(4) Remove the nut (8) and the washer (10) that attach the terminal lug (B1) of the voltage divider harness assembly and the trim balance sensor lead 4000VS-7 of the core harness to the stud (15) of the terminal block (1).
(5) Remove the terminal lug (B1) of the voltage divider harness assembly from the stud (15) of the terminal block (1).
(6) Remove the bolt (16), the two spacers (18) and (20) that attach the clips (17) and (19) and the grounding terminal lug (C) of the voltage divider harness assembly to the bracket (21) at the clip point CP5732.
(7) Remove the grounding terminal lug (C) of the voltage divider harness assembly.
(8) Remove the voltage divider harness assembly from the clip (17).
(9) Release the core harness from the terminal block (1).
Subtask 71-52-43-620-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Remove the nut (13), the terminal lug (D) of the voltage divider harness assembly and the trim balance sensor lead 4000VS-8 of the fan speed/trim balance probes harness from the bolt assembly (9).
(2) Remove the clip point CP6150.
(a) Remove the bolt (5) and the nut (6) that attach the grounding terminal lug (E) of the voltage divider harness assembly and the clip (7) to the bracket (4) at the clip point CP6150.
(b) Remove the grounding terminal lug (E) of the voltage divider harness assembly.
(c) Remove the bolt assembly (9) from the clip (7).
(3) Remove the clip point CP6151.
(a) Remove the bolt (3), the bracket (4) and the spacer (2) from the terminal block (1) at the clip point CP6151.
(b) Remove the nut (11) and the washer (12) that attaches the terminal lug (A1) of the voltage divider harness assembly to the stud (14) of the terminal block (1).
(c) Remove the terminal lug (A1) of the voltage divider harness assembly from the stud (14) of the terminal block (1).
(4) Remove the nut (8) and the washer (10) that attach the terminal lug (B1) of the voltage divider harness assembly and the trim balance sensor lead 4000VS-7 of the core harness to the stud (15) of the terminal block (1).
(5) Remove the terminal lug (B1) of the voltage divider harness assembly from the stud (15) of the terminal block (1).
(6) Remove the bolt (16), the two spacers (18) and (20) that attach the clips (17) and (19) and the grounding terminal lug (C) of the voltage divider harness assembly to the bracket (21) at the clip point CP5732.
(7) Remove the grounding terminal lug (C) of the voltage divider harness assembly.
(8) Remove the voltage divider harness assembly from the clip (17).
(9) Release the core harness from the terminal block (1).
B. Put the applicable CAP - BLANKING, COVER - BLANKING and PLUG - BLANKING on all the openings.
