A. Safety Precautions
   (1) On the center pedestal, on the ENG panel 115VU:
     (a) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) to tell persons not to start the engine.
   (2) Make sure that the engine 1(2) shutdown occurred not less than 5 minutes before you do this procedure.
   (3) On the overhead maintenance panel 50VU:
     (a) Make sure that the ON legend of the ENG/FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
     (b) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) to tell persons not to energize the FADEC 1(2).

WARNING: OPEN THE PROBE HEATER CIRCUIT-BREAKERS 1DA1(2), 3DA1(2,3), 4DA1(2,3) AND 5DA1(2,3) BEFORE ENG1(2)FADEC A and EIU 1(2) C/B'S 2KS1 AND 2KS2. IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THIS SEQUENCE:
  • THE PROBES WILL BECOME TOO HOT.
  • THIS CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT AND INJURY TO MAINTENANCE PERSONNEL.

C. Get Access
   (1) Open the fan cowl doors (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-040):
   (2) FOR [1000EM1] (ENGINE-1)

   (3) FOR [1000EM2] (ENGINE-2)

   (4) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 1M(3 FT) in position.
4. Procedure
Subtask 71-51-44-020-056-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Removal of the Left Side Harness 238W0904
NOTE: Make sure you loosely install the hardware in the correct location after you remove the harness from the clamps and line blocks.
   (1) On the right side of the engine, disconnect electrical connectors 408VC-A, 409VC-A and 447VC-A from the pylon junction box.
   (2) Disconnect the electrical connector 4005VC from the electrical connector 4005VC-A.
   (3) Remove the screw (10), the washers (15) and (20) and the nut (25) that attach the clamps (30) to clamp (70). Remove the clamp from the harness (5).
NOTE: Detail A shows the most current harness installation. Detail B and C illustrates initial harness installations. Refer to the illustrated parts catalog for applicable harness installation configurations.
   (4) Remove the screws (35), the washers (15) and the nuts (25) that attach the clamps (30), (40) and (65) to the brackets. Remove the clamps.
   (5) Remove the bolts (45), the washers (50) and the nuts (55) that attach the clamps (60) to the flange station 176. Remove the clamps.
   (6) On the left side, remove the bolts (45), the washers (50) and the nuts (55) that attach the clamps (60) to the flange station 176. Remove the clamps.
   (7) Remove the screw (35), the washer (15) and the nut (25) that attach the clamp (60) to the bracket. Remove the clamp.
   (8) Remove existing hardware that attach the remaining clamp (60). Remove the clamp.
   (9) Remove the screws (35), the washers (15) and the nuts (25) that attach the clamps (75) to the brackets. Remove the clamps.
   (10) Remove the screws (35) and the washers (15) that attach the clamps (80) and (90) to the brackets. Remove the clamps.
   (11) Remove the screws (35), the washers (15) and the nuts (25) that attach the clamps (85) and (90) to the ground plate. Remove the clamps.
   (12) Remove the nuts (95), the lockwashers (100) and the washers (105) that attach the ground wires to the ground studs.
   (13) Disconnect electrical connector 4000EL-A from the fuel filter differential pressure switch.
   (14) Disconnect electrical connector 4003EN-A from the oil pressure transmitter.
   (15) Disconnect electrical connector 4000EN-A from the low oil pressure switch.
   (16) Disconnect electrical connector 1074GK/3074GD-A from the hydraulic low pressure switch.
   (17) Disconnect electrical connector 4002EN-A from the oil quantity transmitter.
   (18) Remove the screws (35) and the washers (15) that attach the clamps (30), (40), (75) and (110) to the brackets. Remove the clamps.
   (19) Remove existing hardware that attach the clamp (40) to the bracket. Remove the clamp.
   (20) Remove the screws (35), the washers (15) and the nuts (25) that attach the clamps (40), (85) and (110) to the brackets. Remove the clamps.
   (21) Remove the screw (120), the washer (15), the spacer (115) and the nut (25) that attach the clamps (40), (125) and (130) to the support tube. Remove the clamp.
   (22) Disconnect electrical connector 4000KC-A from the fuel filter.
   (23) Remove the screws (35), the washers (15) and the nut (25) that attach the clamps (40) and (110) to the fuel control harness. Remove the clamps.
   (24) Disconnect electrical connector 4000WD2-A from the fire detector.
   (25) Remove the screw (135), the washer (15) and the spacer (140) that attach the clamps (40) to the bracket. Remove the clamps.
   (26) Remove the screw (120), the washer (15), the spacer (115) and the nut (25) that attach the clamps (40) to the bracket. Remove the clamps.
   (27) Disconnect electrical connector 4004EN-A from the oil temperature switch.
   (28) Disconnect electrical connector 4001EN-A from the oil filter differential pressure switch.
   (29) Disconnect electrical connector 1030GK/3030GD-A from the hydraulic pump bypass valve.
   (30) Disconnect electrical connector 4000WD1-A from the fire detector.
   (31) Remove the electrical harness (5) from the engine.
   (32) Put COVER - PROTECTION on the electrical connectors that as follows:
  • the fuel filter
  • the fire detectors
  • the pylon junction box
  • the electrical connector 4005VC-A
  • the oil pressure transmitter
  • the low oil pressure switch
  • the hydraulic low pressure switch
  • the oil quantity transmitter
  • the hydraulic pump bypass valve
  • the oil temperature switch
  • the oil filter differential pressure switch
  • the fuel filter differential pressure switch
