A. Safety Precautions
   (1) On the center pedestal, on the ENG panel 115VU:
     (a) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) to tell persons not to start the engine.
   (2) Make sure that the engine 1(2) shutdown occurred not less than 5 minutes before you do this procedure.
   (3) On the overhead maintenance panel 50VU:
     (a) Make sure that the ON legend of the ENG/FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
     (b) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) to tell persons not to energize the FADEC 1(2).

C. Get Access
   (1) Open the fan cowl doors (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-040):
     (a) FOR [1000EM1] (ENGINE-1)

     (b) FOR [1000EM2] (ENGINE-2)

   (2) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 1M(3 FT) in position.
4. Procedure
Subtask 71-51-44-020-051-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Removal of the Thrust Reverser Harness 238W0908
NOTE: To open the hinged line blocks, turn the captive screws 1/4 turn counterclockwise to disengage the cam nuts.
NOTE: Make sure you loosely install the hardware in the correct location after you remove the clamps from the harness.
   (1) On the left side of the engine, disconnect electrical connector 4100KS-A from the thrust reverser junction box.
   (2) Remove the screws (10), washers (15), the nuts (20) and clamps (25) from the brackets on engine flange 191. Remove the clamps from the harness (5).
   (3) On the right side of the engine, disconnect electrical connectors 4101KS-A, 4101KS-B and 4102KS-A from the hydraulic control unit.
   (4) Remove the screws (10), the washers (15), the nuts (20), and the clamps (25) and (30) from the brackets. Remove the clamps.
NOTE: Initial harness installations had two more clamps installed near the top center of the engine. Refer to the illustrated parts catalog for applicable harness installation configurations.
   (5) Remove the screws (40) and the washers (15) and (35), the nuts (20) that attach the clamps (30) and (45) to the brackets. Remove the clamps (30).
   (6) Remove the screw (10), the washer (15) and the clamps (30) from the bracket. Remove the clamp.
   (7) Remove the screws that attach the cover to the transition box.
   (8) Remove the screws (40), and the washers (15) that attach the transition box to the support brackets.
   (9) Remove the sealant from the back of the transition box and the support bracket with a SCRAPER - PLASTIC.
   (10) Disconnect electrical connectors 4003VC-A and 4004VC-A from the transition box.
   (11) Loosen the captive screws and open the line blocks (50).
   (12) Remove the screws (55) and the washers (15) that attach the line block (60) to the bracket. Remove the harness (5) from the line block.
   (13) Remove the screws (65), (70) and the washers (15) that attach the line block (75) to the bracket. Remove the harness (5) from the line block.

   (14) Remove the screw (40), the washer (15), the nut (20) and the clamp (30) from the harness (5).

END OF SB RA32071-81

   (15) Disconnect electrical connectors 4000KS-J5 and 4000KS-J6 from the Engine Control Unit (ECU).
   (16) Remove the electrical harness (5) from the engine.
   (17) Put COVER - PROTECTION on the electrical connectors that as follows:
  • the ECU
  • the transition box
  • the hydraulic control unit
  • the thrust reverser junction box
