Removal of the Forward Mount Assembly
CAUTION:
THIS PART IS A REMOVABLE STRUCTURAL COMPONENT (RSC), WHICH CAN BE MOVED BETWEEN AIRCRAFT. THUS IT CAN HAVE DIFFERENT OPERATION CONDITIONS AND A DIFFERENT LIFE RECORD (FLIGHT HOURS/FLIGHT CYCLES/CALENDAR) FROM THE AIRCRAFT IT IS INSTALLED ON OR REMOVED FROM. THE OPERATOR IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THE SPECIFIC TRACKING AND CONTINUED AIRWORTHINESS OF REMOVABLE STRUCTURAL COMPONENTS. INCORRECT MAINTENANCE OF THESE COMPONENTS CAN CAUSE A RISK FOR THE FLIGHT SAFETY.

WARNING:
THE FORWARD ENGINE MOUNT WEIGHS APPROXIMATELY 33 KG (72.8 LB). MAKE SURE YOU SAFELY SUPPORT THE FORWARD ENGINE MOUNT AND KEEP IT AWAY FROM OTHER ENGINE COMPONENTS. IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THIS INSTRUCTION, INJURY TO MAINTENANCE PERSONNEL AND/OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT CAN OCCUR.
CAUTION:
HOLD THE ENGINE MOUNT TO PREVENT HARD CONTACT WITH THE ENGINE DURING THE STEPS THAT FOLLOW. BE CAREFUL NOT TO CAUSE DAMAGE (SCRATCHES) TO THE ENGINE CASE.
CAUTION:
DO NOT USE GREASE OR OIL ON ANY PARTS OF THESE ASSEMBLIES. THIS CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE EQUIPMENT.
Subtask 71-21-41-480-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL A. Preparation before Removal
(1) Install the 636-1000-29GSE ENGINE MOUNT HOISTING DEVICE FWD (14) on the forward mount assembly (13).
(a) Refer to the manufacturer's instructions.

(a) Refer to the manufacturer's instructions.
B. Removal of the Forward Mount Assembly
(1) Remove the two forward mount thrust-links (Ref. AMM TASK 71-21-41-000-806).
(2) Open the heatshield covers (1) to get access to the shackle parts.
(3) Remove the shackle lower pins:
(b) Remove the two nuts (11) and the two screws (9).
(c) Remove the two stoppers (10).
(d) Remove the two lower pins (8).
(4) Remove the fail safe pin:
(b) Remove and discard the nut (7) from the waiting bolt (2).
(c) Remove the fail safe pin (4), the washers (3) and (5) and the waiting bolt (2).
(5) Remove the forward mount assembly (13) from the engine assembly.
(a) Safely support the forward mount assembly (13) and keep it away from the other engine components.
(1) Remove the two forward mount thrust-links (Ref. AMM TASK 71-21-41-000-806).
(2) Open the heatshield covers (1) to get access to the shackle parts.
(3) Remove the shackle lower pins:

USE PROTECTIVE GOGGLES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL A COTTER PIN. EACH TIME YOU REMOVE A COTTER PIN DURING THE TASK, DISCARD IT IMMEDIATELY. A LOOSE COTTER PIN CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND.
(a) Remove and discard the two cotter pins (12). (b) Remove the two nuts (11) and the two screws (9).
(c) Remove the two stoppers (10).
(d) Remove the two lower pins (8).
(4) Remove the fail safe pin:

USE PROTECTIVE GOGGLES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL A COTTER PIN. EACH TIME YOU REMOVE A COTTER PIN DURING THE TASK, DISCARD IT IMMEDIATELY. A LOOSE COTTER PIN CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND.
(a) Remove and discard the cotter pin (6). (b) Remove and discard the nut (7) from the waiting bolt (2).
(c) Remove the fail safe pin (4), the washers (3) and (5) and the waiting bolt (2).
(5) Remove the forward mount assembly (13) from the engine assembly.
(a) Safely support the forward mount assembly (13) and keep it away from the other engine components.
