Installation of the Forward Engine Mount

CAUTION: THIS PART IS A REMOVABLE STRUCTURAL COMPONENT (RSC), WHICH CAN BE MOVED BETWEEN AIRCRAFT. THUS IT CAN HAVE DIFFERENT OPERATION CONDITIONS AND A DIFFERENT LIFE RECORD (FLIGHT HOURS/FLIGHT CYCLES/CALENDAR) FROM THE AIRCRAFT IT IS INSTALLED ON OR REMOVED FROM. THE OPERATOR IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THE SPECIFIC TRACKING AND CONTINUED AIRWORTHINESS OF REMOVABLE STRUCTURAL COMPONENTS. INCORRECT MAINTENANCE OF THESE COMPONENTS CAN CAUSE A RISK FOR THE FLIGHT SAFETY.

A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
   (1) Make sure that the engine is removed (Ref. AMM TASK 71-00-51-000-803).
4. Procedure
WARNING: THE FORWARD ENGINE MOUNT WEIGHS APPROXIMATELY 33 KG (72.8 LB). MAKE SURE YOU SAFELY SUPPORT THE FORWARD ENGINE MOUNT AND KEEP IT AWAY FROM OTHER ENGINE COMPONENTS. IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THIS INSTRUCTION, INJURY TO MAINTENANCE PERSONNEL AND/OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT CAN OCCUR.
CAUTION: HOLD THE ENGINE MOUNT TO PREVENT HARD CONTACT WITH THE ENGINE DURING THE STEPS THAT FOLLOW. BE CAREFUL NOT TO CAUSE DAMAGE (SCRATCHES) TO THE ENGINE CASE.
CAUTION: DO NOT USE GREASE OR OIL ON ANY PARTS OF THESE ASSEMBLIES. THIS CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE EQUIPMENT.

A. Preparation before Installation
   (1) Make sure that the 636-1000-29GSE ENGINE MOUNT HOISTING DEVICE FWD (1) is installed on the forward mount assembly (2).
     (a) Refer to the manufacturer's instructions.

B. Installation of the Forward Engine Mount
   (1) Installation of forward mount (2) to engine assembly.
     (a) Approach the forward mount (2) to engine.
     (b) Locate the trunnion installation place on the engine case.
     (c) Install the eight screws (3) and eight washers (4).
     (d) TORQUE the eight head screws (3) to between 5.56 and 4.65 m.daN (41.00 and 34.29 lbf.ft ) T following the installation sequence: A-B-C-D-E-F-G-H.

     (e) Installation of the lockwires (8).
WARNING: USE PROTECTIVE GOGGLES AND GLOVES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL LOCKWIRE. EACH TIME YOU CUT LOCKWIRE, REMOVE AND DISCARD IT IMMEDIATELY. LOOSE LOCKWIRE CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND, AND/OR CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.

F Screw Sequence Installation
   (2) Installation of the fire seal support (5) to the forward mount (2).
     (a) Position the fire seal support (5) on the forward mount (2).
     (b) Position the eq. plate nuts (6).
     (c) Install the 6 screws (7).
     (d) TORQUE the 6 screws (7) to between 0.47 and 0.37 m.daN (41.59 and 32.74 lbf.in ) T.
   (3) Install the forward mount thrust links (Ref. AMM TASK 71-21-11-400-803).

C. Removal of the Tool
   (1) Remove the 636-1000-29GSE ENGINE MOUNT HOISTING DEVICE FWD (1) from the forward mount assembly (2).
     (a) Refer to the manufacturer's instructions.
5. Close-up

A. Installation of the Engine
   (1) Install the engine (Ref. AMM TASK 71-00-51-400-803).
