E. Installation of Ground Support Equipment
   (1) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) - ADJUSTABLE in position to get access to the forward engine mount.
   (2) Put the MAT - WORK in position.
4. Procedure
Subtask 71-21-11-020-064-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Remove the forward engine mount (Ref. AMM TASK 71-21-12-000-011).
Subtask 71-21-11-020-065-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
B. Method 1: Find the Identified Position for Installation of the Hooking Puller
   (1) Remove the eight nuts (1) which attach the mount tube outer race assembly to the No. 1 strut of the fan frame.
   (2) Find the positions at which the IAE1J12476 PULLER HOOKING or IAE1J12516 PULLER-HOOKING is to be installed on the mount tube outer race assembly and the four studs.
   (3) Temporarily put the setting tubes (part of the hooking puller) on the four studs of the fan frame.
   (4) If there is not space between the setting tube and the front engine mount tube at location G, go to step 4. C. If there is space, go to step 4. D.
NOTE: If there is not space, you can not install the hooking puller on the mount tube race assembly in step 4. D.
Subtask 71-21-11-020-066-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
C. Method 1: Adjust the Angle of the Front Engine Mount Tube
   (1) Install the IAE1J12517 HANDLE-TURNING to the front engine mount tube with the four bolts (part of the turning handle) and tighten the four bolts.
   (2) Use the turning handle and turn the front engine mount tube to appropriate angle so that the setting tubes (part of the hooking puller) do not touch the front engine mount tube during installation of the hooking puller on to the engine mount tube outer race.
   (3) If you can not turn easily the front engine mount tube, do the procedures for the method 2 in this task.
NOTE: The front engine mount tube is removed without adjustment of the angle of the tube in the procedures for the method 2.
Subtask 71-21-11-020-067-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
D. Method 1: Install the Hooking Puller on the Mount Tube Outer Race Assembly
   (1) Prepare the IAE1J12476 PULLER HOOKING or IAE1J12516 PULLER-HOOKING for installation.
NOTE: There are two alternative special tools for removal of the mount tube outer race assembly. IAE1J12516 PULLER-HOOKING has the ring as part of the hooking puller to safety the four jaws. IAE1J12476 PULLER HOOKING does not have the ring.
   (2) Lightly tighten the bolts A and nuts A (part of the hooking puller).
   (3) Install the hooking puller to the mount tube outer race assembly.
     (a) Install the hooking puller at positions given in step 4. A.
     (b) Adjust the position of the hooking puller.
   (4) Tighten the nuts A and bolts A (part of the hooking puller).
   (5) Only for IAE1J12516 PULLER-HOOKING: Install the ring (part of the hooking puller) on four jaws.

E. Method 1: Remove the Front Engine Mount Tube and the Mount Tube Outer Race Assembly
   (1) Remove the mount tube and the outer race assembly (2).
     (a) Install a wrench to the adjusting screw (part of the hooking puller) and turn it clockwise.
     (b) If the mount tube and the outer race assembly can move rearward with the hooking puller, go to step (c). If the mount tube and outer race assembly can not be removed from the fan frame with the hooking puller, do the procedures for the method 2 in this task.
     (c) Continue to turn the wrench until the mount tube outer race assembly is clear from fan frame.
   (2) Remove the hooking puller from mount tube outer race assembly.
Subtask 71-21-11-020-069-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
F. Method 2: Remove the Front Engine Mount Tube and the Mount Tube Outer Race Assembly
   (1) Install the IAE1J12519 ADAPTER REMOVAL to the front engine mount tube with four bolts (part of the removal adapter) and tighten the four bolts.
   (2) Install the IAE1J12518 HAMMER SLIDING to the removal adapter with the lock pin (part of the sliding hammer).
   (3) Move the front engine mount tube and the mount tube outer race assembly.
     (a) Move the weight (part of the sliding hammer) rearward quickly to hit the nut (part of the sliding hammer) so that the front engine mount tube becomes free from unwanted friction.
     (b) Repeat step (a) until the front engine mount tube can be moved easily by hand.
   (4) Remove the sliding hammer and the removal adapter from the front engine mount tube.
   (5) Remove the front engine mount tube and the mount tube outer race assembly (2) by hand.
