C. Get Access
(1) Make sure that the fan cowl doors are open (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-802):
(a) FOR [4020KM1] (POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE, ENG 1)

(b) FOR [4020KM2] (POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE, ENG 2)

(2) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) - ADJUSTABLE is in position.

4. Procedure
Subtask 71-13-61-420-051-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL

A. Installation of the Fan Cowl Latch Proximity Sensor Harness
(1) Removal of the protection covers

CAUTION: REMOVE THE PROTECTION COVERS FROM THE OPENINGS AS NECESSARY TO PREVENT ENGINE DAMAGE.

(a) Make sure that you remove all the necessary COVER - PROTECTION to prevent damage to the engine.
(2) If necessary, install the clamp (2).
(a) Install the clamp (2) on the TRAS harness disconnect bracket with the two bolts (3) and the two washers (4).
(b) TORQUE the bolts (3) to between 35 and 31.5 lbf.in (0.40 and 0.36 m.daN )

.
(3) Install the pylon fan cowl latch proximity sensor harness (1) (4145KS).
(a) Connect the harness (1) (443VC-A) to the pylon interface.

NOTE: Do not tighten the connector at this time.

(b) Connect the harness (1) (4056VC-A) to the fan cowl proximity sensor harness.

NOTE: Do not tighten the connector at this time.

(c) If the clamp (2) is closed, turn the nut on the clamp (2) 1/4 of a turn and open the clamp (2).
(d) Put the fan cowl latch proximity sensor harness (1) in the clamp (2) and close the clamp (2).
(e) Turn the nut on the clamp (2) 1/4 of a turn to safety the nut.

NOTE: Do not tighten the bolt on the clamp (2) at this time.

(f) Adjust the fan cowl latch proximity sensor harness (1) to keep preload to a minimum. Make sure that there are no kinks.
(g) Turn the pylon fan cowl latch proximity sensor harness (1) connector (443VC-A) finger-tight. Turn the connector 1/4 turn more with PLIERS - JAWED, SOFT.
(h) Turn the pylon fan cowl latch proximity sensor harness (1) connector (4056VC-A) finger-tight. Turn the connector 1/4 turn more with PLIERS - JAWED, SOFT.
(i) Tighten the bolt on the clamp (2) until the spring is fully compressed against the clamp band. Make sure that there are no gaps between the spring and the clamp band.

NOTE: Do not tighten the screw too much.

5. Close-up

(1) Close the fan cowl doors (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-410-802):

(2) Remove the access platform(s).
(3) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).

(1) Do the operational test of the fan cowl loss prevention system proximity sensors (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-710-802).
