A. Safety Precautions
   (1) Make sure that you did the procedure to prevent engine motoring
(Ref. AMM TASK 71-00-00-860-833).

B. Get Access
   (1) Make sure that the fan cowl doors are open (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-802):
     (a) FOR [4020KM1] (POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE, ENG 1)

     (b) FOR [4020KM2] (POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE, ENG 2)

   (2) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) - ADJUSTABLE is in position.

4. Procedure
CAUTION: WIPE CLEAN ALL PARTS AND TOOLS AS NECESSARY TO REMOVE UNWANTED DEBRIS AND PREVENT DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE.
Subtask 71-13-61-420-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Installation of the Fan Cowl Latch Proximity Sensor Harness
   (1) Removal of protection covers
CAUTION: REMOVE THE PROTECTION COVERS FROM THE OPENINGS AS NECESSARY TO PREVENT ENGINE DAMAGE.
     (a) Make sure that you remove all the necessary COVER - PROTECTION to prevent damage to the engine.

CONFIGURATION 1

   (2) Install the fan cowl latch proximity sensor harness (3).
     (a) Attach the proximity sensor harness (3) connector (4056VC) to the disconnect bracket with the four screws (2) and four washers (1).
     (b) Tighten the screws (2) by hand.
     (c) Connect the proximity sensor harness (3) connectors (4233KS-A), (4232KS-A) and (4231KS-A) to the proximity sensors on the fan cowl latches.
     (d) Turn the proximity sensor harness (3) connectors (4233KS-A), (4232KS-A) and (4231KS-A) finger-tight. Turn the connectors 1/4 turn more with PLIERS - JAWED, SOFT.
     (e) Put the 16 clamps (4) and clamp (6) on the proximity sensor harness (3).
     (f) Install the 16 clamps (4) and proximity sensor harness (3) on the fan cowl door with the 16 bolts (5).
       1 Do not torque the bolts (5) at this time.
     (g) Install the clamp (6) and the proximity sensor harness (3) on the fan cowl door with the bolt (5).
       1 Do not torque the bolt (5) at this time.
     (h) Adjust the proximity sensor harness (3) to keep preload to a minimum. Make sure there are no kinks in the proximity sensor harness (3).
     (i) TORQUE the bolts (5) to between 35 and 31.5 lbf.in (0.40 and 0.36 m.daN ) T.
     (j) Connect the pylon harness connector (4056VC-A) to the proximity sensor harness (3) connector (4056VC).
     (k) Turn the pylon harness connector (4056VC-A) finger-tight. Turn the connector 1/4 turn more with PLIERS - JAWED, SOFT.

CONFIGURATION 2

   (3) Install the fan cowl latch proximity sensor harness (7).
     (a) Attach the proximity sensor harness (7) connector (4056VC) to the disconnect bracket with the four screws (2) and four washers (1).
     (b) Tighten the screws (2) by hand.
     (c) Connect the proximity sensor harness (7) connectors (4233KS-A), (4232KS-A) and (4231KS-A) to the proximity sensors on the fan cowl latches.
     (d) Turn the proximity sensor harness (7) connectors (4233KS-A), (4232KS-A) and (4231KS-A) finger-tight. Turn the connectors 1/4 turn more with PLIERS - JAWED, SOFT.
     (e) Put the 14 clamps (8), two clamps (11) and clamp (12) on the proximity sensor harness (7).
     (f) Install the 14 clamps (8) and proximity sensor harness (7) on the fan cowl door with the 14 washers (10) and 14 nuts (9).
       1 Do not torque the nuts (9) at this time.
     (g) Install the two clamps (11) and the proximity sensor harness (7) on the fan cowl door with the two washers (10) and two nuts (9).
       1 Do not torque the nuts (9) at this time.
     (h) Install the clamp (12) and the proximity sensor harness (7) on the fan cowl with the washer (10) and nut (9).
       1 Do not torque the nut (9) at this time.
     (i) Adjust the proximity sensor harness (7) to keep preload to a minimum. Make sure there are no kinks in the proximity sensor harness (7).
     (j) TORQUE the nuts (9) to between 27 and 24 lbf.in (0.31 and 0.27 m.daN )
T.
     (k) Connect the pylon harness connector (4056VC-A) to the proximity sensor harness (7) connector (4056VC).
     (l) Turn the pylon harness connector (4056VC-A) finger-tight. Turn the connector 1/4 turn more with PLIERS - JAWED, SOFT.
5. Close-up

A. Close Access
   (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
   (2) Close the fan cowl doors (

   (4) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
