A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) On the center pedestal, on the ENG panel 115VU, make sure that a WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to start the engine.
(2) On the overhead maintenance panel 50VU, make sure that the ON legend of the ENG/FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off. Make sure that a WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to energize the FADEC 1(2).

C. Removal of the jointing compound
(a) Use a clean Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) , made moist withV01-076 Methyl Ethyl Ketone, Technical grade , to remove the used jointing compound from:
1 The latches (2).
2 The screws (4).
(b) Use a clean Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) to make the above items dry.

(1) Remove the jointing compound. (a) Use a clean Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) , made moist with

A. Installation of the air starter/blow out door
(1) Install the parts to the replacement air starter/blow out door.
(a) Apply the jointing compound (Material No.V04-005) to the mating of the latches (2).
(b) Apply the V04-005 jointing compound (Ref. 70-30-00) below the screw heads (4) and assemble while still wet.
(c) Put the latches on to the replacement door (1) and attach with the washers (3) and the nuts (5).
(d) TORQUE the nuts (5) to between 13.2 and 10.8 lbf.in (0.15 and 0.12 m.daN )

(e) Wipe off the unwanted jointing compound with a clean Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) .
(2) Install the air starter/blow out door (1).
(a) Put the door in its opening in the fan cowl and install the hinge pins (6).
(b) Put the collars (7) on the hinge pins and safety with the new AIPC 71-13-17-80-010 SPLIT PIN (8).
(c) Close the door and lock the latches.
Subtask 71-13-17-220-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Install the parts to the replacement air starter/blow out door.
(a) Apply the jointing compound (Material No.V04-005) to the mating of the latches (2).
(b) Apply the V04-005 jointing compound (Ref. 70-30-00) below the screw heads (4) and assemble while still wet.
(c) Put the latches on to the replacement door (1) and attach with the washers (3) and the nuts (5).
(d) TORQUE the nuts (5) to between 13.2 and 10.8 lbf.in (0.15 and 0.12 m.daN )

(2) Install the air starter/blow out door (1).
(a) Put the door in its opening in the fan cowl and install the hinge pins (6).
(b) Put the collars (7) on the hinge pins and safety with the new AIPC 71-13-17-80-010 SPLIT PIN (8).
(c) Close the door and lock the latches.
B. Make a check of the clearance around the air starter/blow out door.
(1) Make sure the door is closed.
(2) Measure the clearance around the edges of the door and its opening in the fan cowl.
(3) If the clearance is not between 0.055 in. (1.40 mm) and 0.110 in. (2.80 mm), reject the door.
Subtask 71-13-17-410-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Make sure the door is closed.
(2) Measure the clearance around the edges of the door and its opening in the fan cowl.
(3) If the clearance is not between 0.055 in. (1.40 mm) and 0.110 in. (2.80 mm), reject the door.
C. Close Access
(1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) Close the fan cowls (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-410-010).
